Thanks to John Showman for my new cue!

Hello

I heard of this site and signed up to share my experience with John Showman of Showman cues. Years ago, I ordered a cue for my husband and went to visit John yesterday to check on the progress. I also explained my husband is no longer playing pool and we probably could not afford the level of cue we ordered. While talking, I knocked over USPS tube and apologized. John said no problem, that guy does not want the cue inside anyway. He then told me the USPS lady returned it this morning, as the person moved with no forwarding address. He then tried calling and after a few disconnected numbers, he could not get in touch with the guy. After a few moments, John offered to sell me the cue, refund the small deposit to the guy (if he ever calls?) and heres the amazing part, for the price the guy was suppose to pay years ago when he ordered it!

I got a cue for half the price of the cue I have on order and probably the only I could afford such a nice cue at this time. I cried. John is so nice. My husband gets home on Friday and we will post pictures then. I do not even know what it looks like!

not to mention never talking to the guy since he ordered it.. and sending it without full payment or confirming the current adress..lol

i truley find this hard to believe.. i would believe john has a list a mile long with any person on it would be willing to pay current market price for ANY cue he made..

John Showman must have changed his policy and makes expensive cues for just a down payment and then ships the cue to the buyer without getting any additional money......and of course, the Postman was to collect cash so that knew fer sure he was getting paid for the expensive cue he only got a downpayment on.

And then without further due or delay on his part to locate the buyer, impetuously decides that the delivery problem is unsolvable and the buyer is probably ......probably
.........uh.......what......dead? I mean John probably already come up with an answer for the buyer if they call after waiting years for the cue....."Oh yeah glad you called. Ah, yeah, you see I sent the cue but you gave me the wrong address and since you weren't there.....duh? Sure, that's going to go over really well.

Wedge got it right instantly.......Jenny pushed the envelope a little too far with that version but it had the potential makings of a good fairytale. I mean she could have later posted that John later sends fancy protector caps with her husbands initials carved in ivory.........and.....and.....get this, two more shafts and all of this was at no charge..........Uh oh, did I just push the envelope too far.......Oops.

Maybe it's me, but if a cue maker did me a 'solid', the last thing I'm going to do is run to the nearest pool forum, (especially one the cue maker occasionally frequents), and tell the whole world about it. That's the kind of thing that is meant to be between the maker and the customer, and not for public consumption...for what should be obvious reasons.

I seriously believed you up until the last sentence. Well, maybe, maybe not.

I think that if this really happened, John would have taken it out of the shipping tube and let you have a look. I think that if you paid any price for a cue, that is the first thing that a person would do, even before money changed hands.

What I find hard to understand is why you would join a Billiard Forum and with your first post, decide to tell such an incredible and unbelievable BS story.

Unless you have two accounts, and then by morning, you will probably be at zero accounts. Nice try tho.

Man, my penis tells me better stories than that.

This reminds me of the time I took a walk through the woods and saw a leprechaun riding a unicorn pissing rainbows. It was so beautiful and magical I wept.

Ive sent out many packages without being paid ?

Whats the big deal ? Its no different than a customer sending cash. Is it ?

I know many cuemakers who have sent cues out before being paid in full.

John l showman....... Sent from my wifes account our one and only.
