It doesn't say anything about the BCA Pool League Championships but I would imagine that will have to end also. With the other major strip casinos shutting down tomorrow, I suspect the Rio will not be far behind. Things are changing on an almost hourly basis as EVERYONE is finally beginning to understand how serious this really is. Literally millions of lives are at stake in this country. For whatever reason (and I think most of us know why) we kind of dragged our feet in combating this medical crises.

While recognizing that this cancellation was logical and sensible, it's tough not to feel for those that travelled great distances at significant expense to participate in this event and are stuck with the bills without a chance to play in the event.
Even if one makes the highly questionable assumption that the US Open 9-ball, which is four weeks away, will go on as scheduled, how many of those that just got burned financially are likely to make the trip with such a bad taste in their mouth?
Yes, Matchroom has announced that the US Open 9-ball is still on, but in light of their cancellation of the World Pool Masters, it would be surprising if the US Open didn't suffer the same fate.
I know that finances are of secondary importance in a worldwide crisis of this magnitude, but in the context of what pool professionals earn, the losses of the World Pool Masters, the World 10-ball, and quite possibly the US Open 9-ball, are a very big deal.
Such a shame.

Although it's definitely possible that the US Open could be cancelled, I've read that Barry Hearn's position so far is that they will keep going so long as the government doesn't mandate a shutdown. I do hope if that changes, they give plenty of notice. This cancellation, although prudent is going to hurt for a lot of people. I was scheduled to go to an event in the next couple of weeks which was cancelled, but thankfully I got plenty of notice. Without that, I would have incurred a 1k hit.
Yup, I've already been advised of this by email. Saw it coming.
