This cue was made, sometime right after he stopped cutting the flat on the screw end and started using the more traditional bullet end. Cue was inspected by Pete but the clean up was Paul Drexler. He polished the butt, and cleaned the wrap and this cue is now in 90-95% condition. Still maintaining the original patina, and the finish and everything is straight and sound.

Got to ask.

Where the hell did you find that? Did it come out of a collection or a closet?

That cue must have been put up and forgotten about for a long time.

50 Years standing in the corner of the closet in a Brunswick Zipper Wool Case. Straight as an arrow....

Wow. Cool!

Red, white, and green? Tell me the owner wasn't Italian. LOL!

Any story behind that (ahem) interesting wrap job?

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I remember in the early days when Tim Scruggs was building early cues. A plumber in Syracuse, who bought a lot of cues from Tim, asked for a cue with the wrap all the way down to the buttplate. Tim said no, it would be ugly.

I see this cue is about that. So, obviously, it had been done before.

And, one very unusual cue.

All the best,
WW

Outstanding

A beautiful period piece, unique and original. Kudos for preserving it.

I believe the wrap is long, because it is a 56 1/2" cue. An inch shorter by the standard of most of those cues....
