Hi Everyone,

Our Pool team finally won the trip to Vegas to represent Australia after 10 + years of trying. Was a crazy shootout which we wernt suppose to win, we had a lot of luck go our way though we fought hard and beat the other finalist twice to take first prize.

I was wondering, and I hope i dont come across as a pest, would anyone happen to have any contacts in Vegas to try and make their time over there special, i.e the pool scene, poker, night clubs, restraunts etc etc.

I can’t make it over there unfortunately. My wife is having our first baby due in May, so I’m staying home to be with her, though I’d still like the guys to have the time of their lives. They deserve it.

Thanks for reading.

Dave.

Do not worry. Vegas is full of newspaper stands filled with papers crammed with contacts for folks who will make your time there very 'special'. Bring lots of money.

Actually, poker is available at every casino. The hotel concierge will have suggestions for nightlife, and the steak house at the Circus-Circus (of all places) serves a very fine steak, or at least they did several years ago. Too many really good Italian places to list them. After all, the mob HAD to leave some legacy.

I know a nurse that worked in the clinic that checked the hookers out. I believe they have to get checked once a month...but don't know that for sure. Johnnyt

Where the hell is the fun in that?

On a serious note, hotel concierge are great for what you're looking for. I also lived there for a year and half, so could give you a few cool spots, none pool related.

They won't have any problems finding great food and night clubs in Vegas. All the best casinos has plenty of each to offer.

Dave, tell them to get their shots. One or more, is unlikely to return. ;)

Congrats! Best Billiards is a nice pool hall nearby. @ 5 miles off the strip, down Flamingo Bvd. Gosh, there's so much they could do there, just depends what you like. A trip to Freemont St, which is at the end of the strip is everything a newbie would hope for in their conception of Vegas. Go at night. WHATa spectacle it is. The lights, music, casinos, shops, people, the zip line above - it's hard to describe.

Sorry you can't make it. Next time plan your sex better. ;) Best of health with your newcomer and wife!

when is it? we will be there MAY 10-20 for a furniture show!

- it will be 99 degrees (F) in MAY. or 90-105 degrees. and there will be 1 bad thunderstorm that lasts @ 2 hrs. get yáll's tan on early & bring your bikinis.
- Bally's is ok. i don't know anyone there to hook you up. but its location is perfect cause it's @ the MIDDLE of the Strip! you will save LOTS of money in cabs, by being in the middle & on-site for tourney.
- Bally's is next to Paris & Flamingo. across the street from BELLAGIO. ASK FOR A ROOM W/ A VIEW OF THE BELLAGIO FOUNTAINS! pay extra for it - it's worth it. the new "world's largest ferris wheel" will be open by MAY, and is behind your hotel. you can't fricken miss it.
- when you land @ airport & get your bags, go outside to the LIMO line. not taxis (you'll wait for 20 mins & work up a sweat). get a stretch hummer, etc @ $70. ask them to drive you down the Strip/scenic ride. tip $20. you can smoke & drink in a limo.
- when your limo drops you @ Bally's, use the bellhops/luggage @ front entrance & they'll bring your luggage to the room ASAP. find a cool dude....tip him extra to take you to the front of the check-in line.
- get you a woman @ front desk, cause she'll LOVE your accent.... tell her it's yáll's 1st time to US/Vegas.... tell her you heard that you can upgrade to Penthouse Suites.... pay the $50/night difference - it's worth it! anything you need, when you call from the room phone & it shows as Penthouse - you'll get....talk w/ Concierge.
- at night, take a cab (cause you're not allowed to cross the Strip/street). cost is $5, and they will drop you @ the front doors of each hotel. (it's a LONG-ASS walk from the street to the front doors! especially in 90 degree heat). don't piss-off the cab drivers, cause they will pull over & kick you out.
- everything is across the street from you. next door is Flamingo, and when you walk through @ swimming pools, they have real Flamingos strutting around (kinda cool).

you MUST see (and you can walk the Strip, or cab it & this is from the top of Strip @ airport, down):

MANDALAY BAY (gold hotel @ left) - Red Square Vodka Bar. famous. ice bar & everything's red. $35 shots for the best Russian vodka. House of Blues bar has Santana performing nightly.
LUXOR - black pyramid & sphinx's outside & in.
MGM - across from Luxor. green hotel. live lions/tigers @ lobby & CSI Vegas memorabilia.
EXCALIBUR (DisneyLand)/NY NY - don't go in, but look from outside. NY NY has a rollercoaster.
ARIA - state of the art computer-controlled everything @ rooms....ask the front desk if you can see a room, for the next time you come back. the movie Last Vegas was filmed here. Jennifer Lopez performs @ their night club. they have fountains @ side entrance, that shoot out one side & into the other w/ LED lights - check them out.
COSMOPOLITAN - THE HOTTEST NEW HOTEL (and 1 block from you). GO HERE! this is where all the singles hang.... and the $$$$$$$$ they dropped on decor is sick. there's a red pool table outside of STK restaurant. free.
CAESAR'S - cool to walk around & they have an amazing jazz bar.
BELLAGIO - DO NOT MISS THIS. go down to street level (or side), and hear the music full blast. feel the thunder of the fountains. walk the lobby & see what they've got on display for MAY.
PARIS - across the street. you can ride to the top of the Eiffel Tower. the Tower restaurant is amazing - DRESS CODE: no jeans. no sandals. collared polo or dress shirt. make reservations - even if it's 5 minutes before. call your front desk & they'll connect you to ANY hotel you need.
PLANET HOLLYWOOD - skip this
MIRAGE - volcanos....go to front door & watch/feel the heat.... then go inside & have a drink & see the atrium. they have a zoo @ $10 & you can ride the dolphins & almost pet the tigers, panthers, etc. THIS IS WHERE MOSCONI WAS JUST HELD.
TREASURE ISLAND - next to Mirage. street side & watch the wenches/pirates show. don't go in.
STRATOSPHERE - @ end of the Strip @ left. can't miss the needle. **you HAVE to have drinks/dinner here** go to Top of the World restaurant. 104 floors up....and security check! THE BEST FOOD @ VEGAS. and expensive. but the restaurant REVOLVES around Vegas.... at 104 floors up.... make sure you're good & liquored-up, so that when you see planes hovering in the dark Vegas night, feet away from you, you know that martians are landing -
- then go upstairs. and ride the rides @ top of Strat. and don't splat on the Strip.
- FREEMONT - @ end of Strip. go @ night. it's like bar-hopping. and then ride the ZIP LINE....

hookers are everywhere, 24/7. look for a black dress @ all casino bars. make sure they are Sheilas....

HARD ROCK is 2 blocks off the strip (right side) near MGM. if you have time & money - go. for pic w/ the MASSIVE guitar & the lobby full of culture. eat @ PINK TACO. get tattoed.

**anywhere yáll go, as long as you are gambling (penny slot machines, high rollers computer inset @ bar, tables, etc) - DRINKS ARE FREE!!!! OTHERWISE DRINKS ARE $12-$18....**

check w/ concierge for all concerts in town @ various hotels. also for various Cirque du Soleils. Zumanity is the SEX cirque @ NY/NY.... buy the CHEAPEST seats @ $45 (not $125), and then move down to better seats cause they don't sell out & every seat is fantastic.

my over/under is that 2 don't make their flight....
;)
and if your Aussies get arrested - PM me....
