Çue Case Experts what is it

I don't think so, cos if it were, the seller would have been sure to say it to Jack the price up.

Perhaps Mr. Justis himself would care to comment.

I met Jack at the IPT and he took a look at my Talisman case. He said he had gotten very few complaints on his cases over the years, but one was that his handles seemed backwards. He explained that it was because he was taught early as a matter of etiquette that your right hand should always be free to shake someone's hand, so his cases are meant to be carried so that the front of the case shows outward from the left leg, and held by the left hand. So in that case (no pun intended) that is not a Jack Justis.

The lid is all wrong. Unless I am off my rocker, Jack's case lids all open and attach to the side. Looks more like a Widowmaker case to me.

It looks alot like my Jay Flowers. It's not a flowers but the tooling on the back is EXACTLY like mine. It looks like a well made case, but I don't think it's a Justis. The lid reminds me of a Swift, but he puts a pad on his strap. I know it's not a Flowers, he never did an attached lid as far as I am aware.

So, I'm not real sure who made it, but it really does look like a nice case.

FWIW,

Jim

I have seen these cases on eBay before. The green felt inside is the reminder. They were selling for far less than the 150 starting bid. Dude was getting like 60-80 for them. Some guy in either Alabama or Louisianna if my memory serves me correct...but again...he may have been importing them from overseas.

Hope this helps!

It's still the Mystery Case, but the Unknown Casemaker. Thanks for the information...;)

We know it's not Jack and for sure it's not Flowers.

The photo only at that angle is ridiculous so it's hard to recognize the work.

It looks mostly like a Swift (from Kentucky) who made the Widowmaker cases for Kinnester (sold by Billiards warehouse too) and also made the custom tooled cases sold by Mueller's. My understanding is the Widowmaker thing with Swift was possibly ending. The lid, the pockets, and all that look like his work. The tooling is not exactly what he commonly does on the back, but it looks like his otherwise.

Fred's right. I say it's a Swift. Good rugged cases, but not as classy or as refined as you-know-who.

I've had two Widowmaker cases. This one looks similar, but I just can't be sure. The "stitch" tooling marks look very similar to a Widowmaker, but the back of the case does not look like a Widowmaker.
