•• pool is tough ••

Oh......................

When you lose a match, the other player says, "Oh, you just played bad this time."

If you win a match, the other player say, "Oh, this game is out of line."

I knew when you got in stroke..............

If you are down 5 games in a race to 7, and win 7-6, the other player says, "I knew when you got in stroke, I wouldn't have a chance at this game. We have to adjust."

if you gamble and win, you're a thief or a locksmith.
If you gamble and lose, you're a sucker.
If you don't gamble, you're a nit.

If you play in tournaments and win, they are ready to raise your handicap or just ban you from the event.

If you play in tournaments and lose, your peers ride you about how you don't have a chance against those killers.

If you just practice a lot, there will be those who wail that if they practice as much as you do, they would be a champion.

If you support pool, you're a brown-noser or you've got your hand out.

If you don't practice much and have played at a decent level from time to time, you're a "natural" and everyone is scared to death you're going to get in stroke at any moment.

If you play in the pool leagues, you're a schmuck and looked down upon by the conceited, self-centered *****s.

If like to study the science of pool, you're a no-playing nerd.

If you're a champion, you just don't really know what you are doing.

If you want to be a champion, you'll never get there because it's too hard.

any others or modifications to add?

nuff said!!!

These three are so spot on, I don't know what to say. :D

Here's more:

If you beat someone who is supposed to be better than you, he/she has to explain to everyone how they lost (you did not beat them, they beat themselves).

If you like 1P you are a loser who can't play "real" pool.

If you don't like 1P you are a loser who can't appreciate "real" pool
.

When matching up, your opponent has always been playing less than you have.

"If I'd a known how to shoot that shot, I'd a shot it!" Heard during one our team One Pocket games at the pool room, I beg your pardon, sports bar and grill. Coaching is allowed, but not necessarily liked. :)

When your 20 and you have to find a way into the bars just to play a bunch of drunks because the nearest pool hall is over an hour away

Yes...You've pretty well covered it all Joey, except there are way more chumps, than champs!..You had best learn which you are, real fast!..

So is this what you are saying?..........

If, when playing team One Pocket, you attempt a kick shot, it is the same as telling your partner you can't stand him.

In my case, everyone I play 1-pocket knows without exception that while they oppose me, I have utter contempt for them. I kick like a Missouri mule, and often. Favorite shot in all of pocket billiards is the cross corner kick-bank. It is my opium. ROB THAT NUGGET!

If you're practicing 8-ball for a specific event, you're automatically on the radar of people looking for action.

If your case is 1B/1S then you must be a weak player.

I used to know a very good pool player who would carry exactly 1B & 1S in one of those very thin and cheap nylon cases for that very reason.

The next best thing to playing and winning is playing. Joey is a pretty smart hombre. His thread sums pool up pretty accurately. Except if you are Joey A. and a few of the rest of us who just love to play the game.
