Feijen felicidal.... Should be a good one... Chamat and lil ko also... Love this tournament

This tournament is unreal - just absolute monsters every table you turn to.

The stream on Table 1 is exceptional. The camera operators and direction is stellar - obviously pool fans themselves because the close-ups on the players and where they are cuing up are spot-on.

When I started watching, Souquet was down 8-7 and Dechaine was up 2-1.

By the time Souquet had tied it up 8-8, Dechaine was winning 7-2.

Clearly there is no shot clock!

Souquet ended up winning that one.

I only caught the last couple of matches, but Dechaine played poorly. He played 3 safeties and two were game-losing sell outs, and he missed two shots. Then he ran out the last rack and won. I guess being up 8-3 or whatever it was makes you complacent.

Lots of good matches in this 6:30 round.

Is there a commentator in the background? I can barely hear the guy talking but someone is doing a play by play. They even have bumper music.

I always expect more from Nik, maybe it's because he plays so good with Niels during the world cup of pool. He just gave up this last rack.

Yeah, Naoyuki Oi is a very strong player. This match was a near coin toss going in, with Nick a very slight favorite.

The Souquet/Chang match ran 2 1/2 hours. Its length prevented anyone watching that match in full from seeing a full match in the next round.

Are you sure about the Dechaine match ? because few guys on here said it was too easy, that 9-ball is no-challenge, that Dechaine will be hard to beat bla bla.

I didn't watch the match, it seems like they didn't either lol, or they have different definition of "well played". We are not playing Joss Tour here

he was up 7-1 and ended up winning 9-4....
not that crazy in an alternate break format for the opponent to claw back a little.

For those of us that have watched him play many many times, he was extremely well composed and smooth. His break was excellent and allowed him to maintain control of the table when it was his turn to break - and when his opponent made mistakes, he capitalized on them as he should.

You are right - this isn't Joss tour or Shaw and Earl would be here :grin-square:

His play was perfect up to 7-1 ahead, and then he finished poorly. Overall, very well played.

Practice time charge?

Does anyone know what the players pay for practice time in Qatar?

There is a shot clock and it is 45 seconds but the head referee or the tournament director are the only two people who can request it..when extremely slow play is noticed.
