★ world 9 ball championship ★ qatar★

I think Shane's play in this event (at least in the matches I have watched) was subpar all the way through the second game of his match today with Yu-Lung Chang (Shane missed 4 shots in the first 2 games of that match!). But then, for the remainder of the Yu-Lung match Shane played pretty well while also benefiting greatly from inferior (for him) play from his opponent. My expectations for Shane for the Orcollo match were not sky high. And look what he did.

This is truly a fickle game. I think Colin Colenso spoke about that earlier in this thread. How will Shane do tomorrow? Winning the next two matches is quite a challenge, but he is certainly capable of meeting it.

Yes, and winning against Orcullo is quite a challenge for anyone in the world.

Anyone want odds on how long it takes Corvette-boy to get banned??

Lol, cool it down buddy...

Yeah, because banning me when there are 10 foreign trolls that just like to talk sh!t about American players, especially SVB, yet won't bet anything on it, is the thing to do. Laughable

Fargo has Wu 50% to win the whole thing, SVB 25%, and the Ko brothers at 15% and 10%.

While I like Fargorate, it measure long term speed. Like you play 10 matches, Wu will be favorite to win most
But this is 1 match in semi and in final
So any of 4 can win

So all depends on the form, condition of these 4 players 17 hrs from now
It can be touch and go. Whoever feels best on the day may just wipe the floor
They are all fantastic breakers, runout freaks so it is unlikely to be big margin win like 11-2, 11-1. All 4 can B&R well. Pressure is few notches higher, hands are not as smooth
Any of the 4 would be deserving as they are the cream :D

Yes agree, I saw glimpses of meltdown like v Chang Yu Lung last year when he looked flusters early in match but then Chang also messed up and Shane regain his confidence
Any of the 4 would be deserving winners especially since none of them have lost any match so far all 4 have won 6 matches so far
I just wish they have win by 2 racks.Winning by 1 rack means advantage to lag winner so I am guessing some of them may practise lag :grin-square:

Ya, as opposed to betting 1500 both matches, so you can lose the same amount

I like The matchup with Big Ko or Wu better. It's not all in my favor. I'm giving him a chance to win 3 and the best I can do is win 1. He better act quick though cause I am getting ready to go. I will check back later but we need time to post.

So what drives em? $30000 to winner to run this guantlet is disgraceful. Take out expenses and you'd have to spend this paltry sum carefully. I mean this is a World Championship. Pool is growing. We can see that from the players from around the World and their fine abilities. They are sowing the seeds of the future big pots I believe as advertising comes around. If they keep cleaning up the game and use a clock $75000 1st place is not unforseeable. Streaming is the future.

Based on his performance against Orcullo, I'd say that Shane is formidable against any of the players left. Can't say it'd be a shocker for a Little Ko vs Big Ko final, though.

Imagine little Ko won the whole thing- that'd be unexpected.

Well that would be 1 and 1 a from my earlier top 5 Wu was in there also
Alex didn't play Biado got beat by big Ko ,, that's Marko rankings

Hey don't get me wrong, I'm rooting for Shane too. I just don't take it as personally as you. Sounds like you got your bet. Good luck.

I'm using a Chromecast USB dongle and watching via google chrome on my 50" TV and resolution is pretty good.

Hope they have commentary for the last 4. Or skip it if crap commentators!

Why don't they have commentary for the better matches. Those people over there are so boring. Danny Diliberto would do fine.

35 cameras and not a single commentator.

High tech, low promotion... think WCBS, the gurus that might sink the sport all the way to the Olympics.

So the matches start at 6:30est tomorrow - by when do you suppose the stream will be functional?
