Finally......one of my all time top three master cue-makers now sits in my case......must say I am very impressed with this cue.
Delivery was only 2 hrs ago. Now the question becomes whether, or when, I can add another of the remaining two cue-maker "Magi".

At this moment, I am in a state of "Nirvana". Silly me, I was thinking Fresno was in California......but not tonight, at least not for me.
In case you were wondering, the cue that arrived today is not my Jerry Rauenzahn Bushka Tribute Cue that's on track for Feb/March.

Update: Photos of this cue appear on post #13. Thanks for looking.

Who are these 3 Magi that you speak of? There sure is a lot of teasing going on today here in the gallery.

Everyone Has Their Own Rankings

Allen,

I'm sure each and every one of us has their favorite cue-makers. If you were to name your favorite top 3 cue-makers......ones you'd love to own more than any other cues, what would your top 3 cue-makers be?

Rest assured, a Szamboti cue would undoubtedly be a popular pick for the top three cue-makers on lots of Azer lists. It almost made mine but I have Barry Szamboti coming in at #4 among my top 5 cue-makers to own.

Danny Tibbits is one of my top 3 cue-makers and the cue that carrived today was not one of his. Sadly, locating one of his cue designs I like and that meets my cue specs still hasn't happened yet but I keep looking. I'm not sure where Tibbits ranks with other Azers but he definitely makes my top three list.

I'll try taking some photos and post pics of the cue. I'm pretty sure most everyone will like this one.

Having owned what I feel is one of the very best Tibbitts cues out there I would say that mine was great and flawless but on a cue to cue basis the consistency isn't there to have him in the top three.

I think if your top 3 you must have that.

Mine as far as that goes would probably be

Gina
Searing
Haley

in no particular order.

All flawless even when examined with a jewelers loop. This is of course speaking about their current work.

Matt has more fun ribbing us than he does playing.
or at least it seems that way

i look forward to seeing his new treasure,
he adds a lot of excitement to the forum

thanks

Worminator Is Right......

Jamie makes a very good point questioning my top 3 selection.....but I did have Barry at #4.......what makes us pick, choose, and rate cue-makers is truthfully so terribly subjective......maybe it was because I don't want to spend $10-12k for one of his cues that I'd want.

My other two cue-makers on my top 3 list are not slouches so perhaps one of them might be on someone else's list for top three. I admit I have a narrow band of cue-makers I am enthralled with. In 2013, I started a thread and listed 17 cue-makers I'd buy and I had a "A" list and a "B" list of cue-makers. Those are the only cues I will buy and just consider how many other good cue-makers there are today........I'm just different in my approach to cues.

if you can find a cue from danny that meets you wants for less than a barry 10 to 12 dimes bs cue...than either you want a really plain cue from danny or you havent priced a fancier tibbits.......

Nick.....I Love You Buddy.

Nick,

You truly are a breath of fresh air and your sense of humor is great.
I couldn't stop laughing when I read your post. I'm still chuckling as I write this.

There's a gorgeous Hercek cue I've been discussing and I almost picked that one
instead of this Ed Prewitt. The seller is holding the Hercek for me and if I get that,
well, it's a very steep price so my Scruggs cue might very well have to be let go.

I hope not......parting with my Mottey was a hard thing to do but oh well......this
cue helps keep my mind off of it. Brian Parks is probably going to steal this one
from me after he lays eyes on it at the next Tournament in Fresno. His EP cue was
a real dandy and he misses that cue a lot. Sadly, the thief hasn't been caught yet.

Couple More Pics

Here's few more photos of the veneers. points & rings.

And the cue came with the original Moori brown tips.......screw the Kamui Clear Tips for this cue.

Hope you folks like the design....not much of a camera person......in person, your eyes are actually drawn towards it.

Beautiful Prewitt! Is this an addition to the one you picked up from Europe or am I mixing things up?

Ironchef.....that Prewitt Is Still on Purchase Hold.

This is in addition.......the one in Europe is still a ways off and the seller is always able to change his mind. I really liked Dirk and he's assured me it's still a go when he comes state side. I guess it just came down to becoming impatient. EP's wait is 3-4 yrs and I heard Joel's is now at 11 years. I want to own such cues while I'm still ambulatory and can play pool. I never experienced a middle age crisis like Bruce Dern's part in the movie "Middle Age Crazy". His lecture scene to the graduating HS senior class is just precious....absolutely hysterical....a must see segment.

This has to be an arrested version of that because it makes very little sense. Pretty much all my cues play great and I must admit on any given day I can shoot as bad or as good with any one of them. With the Bushka coming in March, and a special version Tribute cue I'm commissioning Jerry to make next, well, there's room for one last cue for my 6x12 case. So if this Prewitt qualifies as a monster, then I'd like the last one to be a Godzilla of pool cues. Realistically speaking, just how many great playing cues can anyone own & enjoy? I think I probably passed that number awhile ago & so as I earlier wrote, this really isn't very sensible when you think about it so why even bother trying to figure it out?
