1 pocket, straight pool or banks ladders?

In most pool rooms around the Houston area you are forced to play luck ball I mean 9 ball in short races. The tournament usually starts late and drags on for hours on a week night.

I would much rather play 1 pocket or straight pool but there are no weekly tournaments for them.

A few months ago a friend of mine suggested starting a ladder. In this format you play when your schedule allows in a location of your choice. After the first of the year I am thinking of starting a one pocket ladder here in the Houston area. Has anyone here on AZ attempted to run a ladder? Here is a link to a snooker ladder.

. Sounds like what a buddy of mine is starting. He calls it challenge matches. Have a tourney and the results list you from top to bottom. You challenge someone higher up the list and play at your leisure, any day, anywhere, anytime. You could play on your lunch hour. You can turn down a challenge but eventually you must accept one. Eliminates having to play particular night and place, and it's quick. Something different is always good and the payout will be close to 100 percent!! Results and challenges can be done on computer. There will be 8, 9, and one pocket.

Attention Houston players

Bumpety bump....

I have received some interest in the Houston area for the formation of a ladder.

Working people need a better model for competing in pool and I am willing to bring it.
