1 Pocket

I was only asking because I didn't know if ya'll posted somewhere else.

Anywho . . .

2 rail the 3 and stick him behind the 12. He will be hard pressed to get out of that one.

Wow you are good.

Ok then I gots another one.

I know a pocketed ball gets spotted after a CB scratch , so . . . my "money" ball is sitting the jaws of my pocket , that means that all my opponent has to do is pocket it in my pocket and scratch and it will get spotted ? Doesn't really seem like such an 'out' should exist on the money ball but maybe it does.

What say ye ?

Correctalamondo! And your opponent must spot one of his own balls too. Don't snooze on that one!

Of course it does! This is one of the oldest "moves" in one-pocket! It's not always as easy to follow the ball in as you may think and good one-pocket players also use the "jump the cue off the table " move in order to pocket the ball and scratch! It's certainly a legal and smart shot to use when the situation occurs.

You'll think different about that rule when your money is on the line and that's your opponents ball hanging in his pocket.

Wow, very interesting , I'll have to think about the options for this one.

Thanks everyone.

Ok , so . . .

What's the move now ? You got ball in hand at the string and 2 on the spot needing one. Is there a standad lockup out ?

There is a shot... I can't use the table so someone will have to diagram it for you. Cue ball three balls from the head spot on your opponents side of the table. Shoot straight at the head ball with draw. Bottom ball should move 2 rails to your pocket and the head ball should drift to your pocket as well.... sorry i can't diagram it for you.

Here ya go.

You probably need to learn this shot.

Here are more options, scoll to the bottom, shot # 77, 78 & 79.
You may have to log-in to view these but, I think it would be worth your time.

I'll give you a good one and I don't need a diagram to describe it. Move over to the side away from your pocket so you are shooting toward your hole. Hit the head ball thin and just play table speed on the cue ball to bring it down the table, the closer to the end rail the better. Now you have moved both balls toward your hole and the cue ball is some distance away. There is a possibility on this shot of leaving the second ball blocked by the first ball as well. So much the better. It will be tough for your opponent to not leave you a shot after this.

Even better is if you can thin BOTH balls on the side and go down table with the cue ball. It is not as hard to do as you might think. Just takes a little practice to learn this shot. It's a killer!
