Hey guys!

A few people have asked me to to do a series of instructional videos on some shots every player should know but some players don’t know when they should know them. I made a test video and thought I’d post here for feedback. My goal is to cover some of the more basic shots that every player should know when playing shots they don’t know in a simple easy to follow format.

I hope you can learn something and let me know what you think I should know about making videos about a number of shots pool player should know! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

After some feedback, I think there’s probably better ways to play that shot:

Great stroke. And shot.

You say anyone can make that shot, but I think that is a shot for a higher level player. You are giving the low levels too much credit. A two/three rail draw shot that goes down table and back up to get position is not a shot many can execute.

Personally, I would just go forward into the rail with insides to come back out into line with the nine. Or stun insides depending on that angle.

Not meaning to be critical, i just prefer the least amount of effort and movement as it has the least chance for error. I also tend to lose the cue ball on round the world draws.

I made a video response. I think you’re right:

While the theory of playing into the line of position is certainly a good rule of thumb, I find it applied to this shot inappropriate.

I'd likely slow roll it too and if the 9 we're on the bottom rail and closer to center, I'd go 3 rails with L. It is exceedingly easy to judge cb path to arrive to the final corner either short or long, from the 8.

Far easier than loading the cb with draw and inside.

Agreed with those before who feel the shot displayed is for advanced players only.

I like the idea of this series of videos. However, there is absolutely no way that the lower ranked players can execute this particular shot. They just don't have the stroke to pull it off.

Right? That’s what I was thinking!

Thank you for sharing and admitting that the stun shot was the way to go. Brave Man !

Well played.

I know someone who likes to make shape the way you did in the first video so i couldn't be sure if you were serious or not. Second video makes your humour more obvious with the ramblings start the quiet contemplation of the stun shot.
