Thank you! Done and done. Will see you there I suppose. Look for a big fat ugly old man from Missouri. :)

Awesome to hear. Hopefully we'll see ya there. Just look for a Guy who looks suspiciously like my avatar. ;)

I made a thread on this but put it to bed as I had two senior moments -- I did not see that this thread had already been created and made on oooopsy on the date. Red Forman provided this information on the thread and I thought I'd pass it along!

I was about to bump this thread to take the heat off your back, but you beat me to it. :) Are you going to OKC?

Thanks Underclocked <====Are you proud of me -- I put the "c" in it this time (It's an inside joke folks don't try to figure it out you might hurt yourself.)

No can do -- but I can darn sure help promote it!

Thanks for the help! We all get those, no problem man. There was just so much confusion at the beginning of this thread with such a short notice on a big money tournament, I just wanted to nip it in the bud. Sorry if I came across as rude on your thread. Thanks again, maybe we'll see you next time!

No, rudeness never crossed my mind; however, your strong desire to get the word out to the "feltnation" in very short order did! I know how it is operating on the 11th hour -- it ain't fun .... or easy for that matter. I emphatically feel your pain and respect what you are going through!

As for the "maybe we'll see you next time" ... time will tell my friend. One can hope!

Payout Schedule!! 100% Payout!!

This event will payout half the field as follows based on a FULL field of 128:

1st- $3600
2nd- $2000
3rd- $1200
4th- $700
5/6th- $400
7/8th- $250
9-12th- $180
13-16th- $130
17-24th- $90
25-32nd- $60
33-48th- $40
49-64th- $30

Top Woman- $125
2nd Top Woman- $75

Given to me by the Tournament Director Amy C.

Once again these are based on A Full field of 128 players. Not too bad for a $20 tournament, right?

Come on out to OKC to fight for your cut!

Note: The $10k is guaranteed, the only change in the payouts without a full field would be the difference in entry fees.

Another one (Russ Dameron) of the eight players from the Springfield, MO area and myself finished in the tie for a whopping 25-32nd place. Thanks to me, one of the others in the group (Jim Helt) finished in the 33-48 group.

My second match in the tourney was against Andy Craig (also of Springfield) and Andy whooped me badly in a match that should have been a close one. Andy may have also finished in that same 33-48 group, not sure. The others from this area were Dave Hathman, Van Evans, Al ?? and Bill ?? (memory lapsing again). I don't believe any of them finished in the money but if they did it was an even smaller amount than that Russ and I received.

It sucks when a group of guys go considerable distance to an event like that and then wind up having to play each other right off the bat or early on in the tournament. There should be some provision made for that in setting up the brackets where possible.

I was booted from the loss side by heckuva player by the name of James Walden. I believe our score was 5-3 in that match.

I defeated another player just before my match with James that was apparently a power house given the reaction and comments of several there.

Dardusm was down there and I know he was doing well early on but I lost track of him later.

Don't ask me who was going to play today as I didn't hang around late last night and we left before 8 this morning. I'll probably learn with the rest of you when someone else posts here that stayed around for the finals. And I hope Dardusm has good news! :)

Sorry to hear about the draw. I tried to make my way over to watch some singles, but my team was grinding it out for 12 hours in the other room. We'll have to set up an AZB corner next time.

Last I heard Chip had won the hot seat against Joey with Walden and Shane McMinn left on the losers side.

This tournament filled up 128 and had about a 25 player waiting list...some of the players in attendance were of course the 4 in above post...and Tommy Tokoph-Coy Lee Nicholson-Robert Clark-Tony Sulsar-Chuck Raulston-Jesse James-Mark Dimmick...many other top notch players also...I sure hope they have more of these in the future...it was fun!!!

Yes, Mark, at least half of us were indeed nutZ!

It worked out well for a lot of folks although the vast majority of the prizes were just a pittance. First, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th all paid decent amounts for any tournament and especially one where it was only a $20 entry. I won a couple of quick mini-tournaments Friday evening and those helped defray another bit of my total outlay.

Do not stay at the nearby Howard Johnson motel if you ever need a room in OKC! I made that mistake. The Best Western recommended by the casino is superb though (and they had a special rate for the players to boot). I wanted to get as close to the casino as possible but the mile difference in the two locations is nowhere near the light-years difference in quality.

I need to buy a Diamond 7 footer and find a place for it. Lack of practice on those Diamonds really hurts. Plus... I like them.

Had a blast!

I didn't get anywhere in the tourney, but I sure had fun! I met some of the Missouri boys and appreciate the kind words of support that I got from a couple of them. Got to play a really smart girl and had a blast losing the chess match to her. Big THANKS to Amy for running a great tourney! I heard a little rumor they were going to have another one...

Safe travels to everyone!

I had a blast at this event too!! Luckily, my team had a few subs so I was able to play the singles event. I won my first match against "Diamond" Dean from OK, then lost to Coy Lee. I won 5 matches on the losers side before losing to Chuck Raulston this morning. So that put me 9-12th. My team did well too!! We lost our 1st match, then came back to take 3rd place. We lost to Joey Grey's team 13-11. It was a heart breaker, but a great match.

Overall, it was a great event. I'm looking forward to the next one. :)

I saw the payouts, and the names on top of the list. Looks like it was the locals who did well. This tournament was too good to believe, but it actually did what it said, and turned away 25 more players.

Compton vs McMinn for a 180 to 1 payout.... $20 to win $3600...:)
