$1000.00 Cue

You might think about Travis Niklich (Blackcreek cues). Here are a few pics of mine that I use as a daily player. It's a cocobola 6-pointer with lizard print leather wrap and flat-faced radial pin. This same cue new would run between $800-900 I think. I got this from Cueaddicts and they would know his current prices.

Good luck!

AE there in Denver does incredable work and he can stay within your price range. Not only is his work some of the best I have seen the playability is second to none.

my vote would go for a Gilbert, had one that i shot with more than any cue i ever owned, but like everything else i fooled it away to come up with the money for a Scruggs, which i love to no end, but wish i could have kept the Gilbert too.

some are getting off the track from the posters original ? he said "Is it still possible to have a custom one of a kind cue made for around $1000? the answer is yes......but.... i think a one of kind cue is one where the design is incorporated through the entire cue, not just an inlay or two added to make the cue unique. that being siad, there are allot of makers who will make a good cue for $1000 but not as many that will gaurantee the design "one of a kind" for that money unless it's one for sure they would never use again. for true one of a kind "customs" at this price i know chris hightower makes nice ones and i'm sure others as well.

I would visit the making of this cue from the start. I would want my input to be the deciding factor. I did this with Bill Stroud and I would do it again the same way. This web site has given me more info to what is optional and what is important is making design decisions. The end result will be something that I think will turn heads. With the play and the looks. That is my intention. Now the execution.;)

yes i understand but will it be a true "one of a kind" cue? thats the question. as far as bill stroud, i would highly doubt he would do any true one of one cue for that price but good luck on your quest and post pics when your cue is done.

depending on who you have make it.. it is possible..

only problem is alot of the more bigger name makers
start at like 1800.. but there is a lot of people under the radar
that will make a cue just as good for what your asking...

chris
There are more guys under that price then over, but again what exactly do you want??? I mean 2 shafts will run you a bit and then if you want inlays, and points you are making the list smaller and smaller, but a basic hardwood cue with a wrap I bet you can find over 100 makers for that price or less.

I did this with Bill in 1984. I'm sorry if it sounded like I did this recently.

4 points, leather wrap, inlays in butt, 2 shafts. That is my goal. I hope I can achieve it. You guys/gals have all contributed to the possibility of my success with this.

Suggestions ...

In Wichita - It would depend on what you truly want for a Shurtz cue, I have seen unique 1 of a kind for $1,400-1,600.

Dennis Cash, been in business going on 5 years, would. A friend of mine had a unique one of a kind cue made from him for $900.
