I think I'll stop today and check it out and ask one of the guys at Best Buy for some info. Those people are pretty sharp in regards to that stuff.
Sorry, Gerry for the questions in your thread.

BEst of luck...

And I dont think Gerry will mind...he's a pretty easy to get along with, except when he chews his fingernails by accident (you see, that is funny b'coz he is a plumber, I believe. If not, well then it is funny for another reason altogether:eek::embarrassed2:))

Anyone for 10ball vs the Ghost Tournament?

We’ve started a pool tour out here on the west coast and we're ready to go national with it. Looking for players and pool rooms interested in playing and/or running a weekly 10ball vs the ghost tournament. It's a unique format that enables us to play weekly national tournaments west coast to east coast. The official website is just about ready to launch that has all the players stats, match scores and tournaments results.
There are 6 divisions so everyone will fit in somewhere. Two of the divisions are handicapped if you're interested in that we've got it. A true 90% handicapping system. There's a waiting list for the semi-pro and pro divisions for players wanting to play upper level scratch. We've been playing it out here on the west coast for about 7 months and it's going great. We're ready to spread our wings. Looking for rooms and players to get involved. Weekly $10 entry fee. The purses are going to grow big!

There's more info on the temp site at www.behindtherocktour.com

I'll try to answer a bunch of questions here....

My webcam is set at about 4' above the table and maybe 2' back from the end of the table. It is actually hardwired with a regular USB cable right to my Toshiba laptop, and I am running the software that came with the cam....super easy!

I signed up for a free account at Vimeo, and they let you upload 500 meg/week free. All you do is pick your video from your files and they do the rest. Then you can go to Vimeo and set up groups/folders/etc.

Black-balled, I quit biting my finger nails when I became a plumber :) and I can't give anyone weight!....I havn't played in months, and can't make a ball ;)

See Micky, it only took me 20 years to learn to play!

as far as the stroke analyzer? I would not want my stroke looked at by ANYONE! who knows the mechanical workings of the stroke. I can get the ball to the pocket, but it is a conglomeration of bad habits held together by years of practice :)

next I'm gonna try to get a 100 ball run on tape. I got a 94 last year, then quit playing 14.1. I need to practice a little to get the patterns going in my head again.

Using StrokeAnalyzer on your machine...you are the only one looking at your stroke :-)

Gerry;

Excellent shooting! You move whitey around real nice.

One question on your breaks. You seem to be generating very good power and accuracy with an open bridge. Do you think you could generate even more power with a closed bridge break?

Best,
Brian kc

Brian, I have used an open bridge to break after doing an experiment years ago. I was having control issues with my break.....basically I was going after it too hard. So, I started breaking open bridge and at 1/2 speed....WALA!....I all of the sudden had a new weapon.....a controlled break. I can control my break MUCH MUCH better open bridge. You will sometimes see Corey go to it when he is looking for total control.

On this video I was using both a cut break, but didn't like it. Then I tried the head on, kinda like SVB. With his break you can see the corner balls going around the table and going in the rack end corners, and I'm trying to make the second row balls in the side.

Give it a try, you might think it offers less control, but for me its the only way.

I LOVE your stroke Gerry. You got a helluva game! Thanks for posting the vid, look forward to more. Maybe you could vid you going up against an AZer in a short race?

HA!, thats back when I couldn't play a lick!:) j/k

thanks guys!I do have some footage playing 1P somewhere? when I was practicing for the Derby last year. At 1P.org we were putting up test shots and trying to figure out the solutions......that was fun!

About an hour ago I put up a 92 ball run on the same page. Not sure if it loaded yet? I'll check.
