10ball rules question

If the 10 ball (and pocket) is called and pocketed on the break, is it a win? Of course, if it isn't pocketed the breaker wouldn't continue shooting regardless of any other object ball pocketed.

Depends on the rules used. Many tournaments do not count the 10 on the break (called or not), some do. Probably most people on AZB would rather play 10 or 9 on the break is not a win.

If you're playing under the WPA world standardized rules the 10 ball on the break is NOT a win under any circumstances.

It would be ridiculous

The odds of calling the 10 ball on the break and making it that pocket, makes the thought even ridiculous. The break is hard enough in 10 ball as it is, so why would you just want to give the non-breaker anymore of an advantage?

How would you like to make three balls on the break and not make the 10 so you have to turn over the table?

In low-mid amateur level it's strange to make a 10ball runout, so the break isn't very important. And without magic rack, it is not that hard to make the 10 in the corner, it happened to me some months ago, a guy won me a game this way (he called the 10 on the corner every game, he made one but almost in every break the 10 was moving in the direction of the pocket)

Almost every break it was moving that way? Did it go in? It is not easy to make and is not a factor. You are bringing up a time you made it once? You proved my point. I play with some very high level players, and very seldom is it ever made, so seldom I couldn't even tell you which pocket it gets kicked into.

People wouldn't call the 9 ball or the 8 ball in those respective games either. Bad bet.
