14.1 results lacking

One bad commentator can sure overshadow a good one. So far Kantrowitz is the star imho- Fingers 2nd.

Mikey Fingers does great commentary, he's put in lot's of table time and many countless hours of watching match play on video. it all shows when he steps up behind the mic !!!

Any idea who is next on the streaming table? The original schedule had Efren. I guess that isn't happening.

Thanks in advance.

BTW-Ginky never won the World Straight Pool Championship in any form-sanctioned or unsanctioned. He won the National Straight Pool Championship.

And the guy Landi asked certainly knows that so I dont think Landi heard him right.

Right. 1999. But no telling what DP is counting as world championships. Do they count US Open 14.1 events?

Just to piggyback on your post, the 2000 event was a US Open, not a World event. Ginky didn't win it, Ralf did. I don't even think Ginky was in this one.

Right. 2000 was US Open, won by Souquet. Ginky's 14.1 win ("National Straight Pool Championship") was a year earlier at Amsterdam Billiards, not a US Open.

Edit: Ginky finished 13th-16th in 2000 US Open 14.1.

Yes-Roseland Ballroom. Not that many high runs as in some of the events. I think Robles had 146 and missed an easy shot though i think it was "uptable"

Well that's a strong sweet 16 that's for sure. Hohmann is a straightpool machine so I'd have to call him the favorite. JA is also playing very strong pool right now.

Thanks, Gene. Much appreciated.

earl beat charlie williams, not sure of final score.

Did Earl beat charlie williams again? he beat him the other night...

the last match Earl played was against archer yesterday on the tv table.

great to see Earl in the last 16 all the same, go the PEARL !!!

Charlie did not make past the round robin groups. So, Reas must be talking about the earlier match.
I sat near Earl during the match with Archer. He kept talking about how lucky Archer was because Archer kept getting good rolls. I wanted to tell him that he was in Queens. If he wanted good rolls he would have to go to Brooklyn where they have the best bakeries. But, I kept my mouth shut.
He just kept going on and on about how the only way players can beat him is if they get all the good rolls. He never gets good rolls. He has no respect for the skill of the other players. Archer played a great match.

well Earl has always been like this, why do people get so wound up about it? it's nothing new!! i have watched all of Earls matches on the livestream so far and this is the first time he has kicked off, and low and behold it was against his arch enemy... mr. archer!!! earl and johnny have not gotten along for long enough, i expected this, because archer is a bore on the pool table, it's like watching paint dry!

and i agree with Earl, he does get a lot of good fortune...
