Just a taste of some of the extraordinary pool seen recently in the woodshed. Other than daily practice and the recent start of straight pool league, my only competition has been a weekly 14.1 marathon against a top pro, and some of the pool I've seen has been spectacular. So, for your viewing pleasure:
Table #1 - my opponent freezes me on the bottom of the pack, the tangent line goes directly into the corner pocket.
Table #2 - I have played a Danny D. "Special" safety by aiming slightly into the 12 with low right half-masse', and sneak the cue ball into the jaws of the pocket - thinking I've got the rack cinched from this position.
Table #3 - My opponent studies the table for almost 5 whole seconds, calls the 3 in the side, then kicks it in 2 rails (its sitting about a balls width away from the pocket), then runs 40 and out. I continue to perfect my racking skills.
Its freaking difficult to get to the table against this type of opponent. In the same game to 150 my opponent made 2 successful jump shots (one short and one long) - the first time I've seen jump shots in straight pool. Well, back to the woodshed.
