the ipt is offering all of the matches uncut, that's 165 matches for $1000. watch as gerda gets the best of earl at hill-hill. watch allison beat neils. check out karen corr's incredible consistant play. watch as bernie and efren rise to the top of the escalator talking strategy moments before the finals. see sigel in a fog of confusion and utter upsetness, and efren flowing like water in the finals. yes, friends, all of the 8-ball king of the hill matches for $1000, it's well worth it.

In the process of getting 9 other guys to put up $100 each so that we can buy the DVD set. Wish I was rich enough to afford just buying it outright by myself, wonder if they take used cues in trade =)

$1000? I can understand 10 friends pooling $100 bucks each to share the set. But what average individual (assuming no millionaire) would pay a grand for a bunch of DVDs?

I'm assuming you can still buy individual matches, no?

I hear it only would have been 10 DVDs but they had to make room for Johnny Archer's pre-shot routine. :p

He plays so slow that he started play today, and finished it yesterday.
So slow that he went backwards in time.:D :D :p

Haha. I know what joke you're trying to make, but "slow" is used in the wrong context. If you use the word "slow" in the context of time, then your joke is completely illogical. :p

The joke would only make sense if you use "slow" in the context of speed. For example...
"If we were walking any slower, we would be moving backwards." If you go backwards in time, that would imply something that is extremely fast, not slow.

I just thought that was funny. :D

We should start an AZbilliards version of Netflix. Between the IPT vids, Accu-stats, and the other instructional videos, etc... we would have a nice collection of stuff to choose from and spread out the cost.

Why is that hard to believe. A match is about an hour to maybe two hours, 165 matches equals how many DVD's? People are paying up to $29.99 for a new movie, so that is about 33.34 discs.

I would think there are going to be more than 33 discs, so the price per disc would drop with each DVD above the number. And it's much better than a movie, it's real life where you can learn patterns and see your favorite playes in action against other great players. Hopefully they will make it so that you can order individual matches of all the players, or all the matches of one particular player.

Regardless of if it's ludicrous or not to pay that kind of money for DVD's, I think it's worth it. Especially if I get some people to go in with me no it, the more the merrier.

Edit: There is another reason for buying the DVD's: supporting the IPT.

I think there were some matches that went well over 2 hours. I'm guessing that there will be 165 separate DVDs. Maybe you can get two short matches on one DVD, but it seems like that would complicate the logistics of production.

yes you can buy individual matches, or the entire tournament from begining to end for $1000, i'm not sure how much the individual matches are, it will be posted i'm sure any day now on the official website www.internationalpooltour.com click on store. also, you will see ENTIRE and i mean ENTIRE sections in wal-mart and blockbuster in 2006 saying "OFFICIAL IPT DVD'S" it's about time you can walk into a major chain and find tons of pool 8-ball DVD'S wouldn't you agree???

So if Johnny Archer went back in time to 1999 and beat himself to win the US Open, would he and the trophy instantly be sucked into a space/time vortex?

Of course only the evil parallel universe Archer would have a goatee like that, so I guess we know which one we have ;-)

Is that what KT was telling you guys? He is in a fantasy land then, there is no way Wal-mart or Blockbusters buyers are wasting shelf space stocking a bunch of pool videos unless KT actually pays for the space, and probably not even then. If they do, just wait a short time and you will find them in the 1.99 cent bin to get rid of them because they won't sell enough to justify it. You have to deal in some kind of reality here. They may take a few but that would be it.

Even if they only take a few, isn't that like getting your foot in the door and better than what ANYONE else in the history of this game has done? Everyone pays for space everywhere, if you don't think so then you are the one in fantasy land.

Either way it will bring more exposure to the game, more exposure means more participation, more participation means more fans, more fans means more demand for tournaments, more tournaments means better/higher competition, more competition means more sponsors........and that's what we want right?

I know it might not be the right equation but you get the idea.

In most cases you go to trade shows in like Vegas and places like that and present your product to them, it's a crap shoot. Or you meet with their buyers and pitch your product. Either way getting into Wal-mart, Sears, or K-mart is a major thing for a manufacture and not easy. I can just hear KT when he gets started and what comes out of his mouth and people may eat it up but it is hype and he is famous for it. I hope he does get them out there but actually the informercial is the best way and it is what he knows. Even his book if it was just out there on the shelves in book stores would already be out of print. Estaban has sold millions of his CD's but in the normal market place he would have sold none. I think I read he sold fewer then 300 till he got on QVC. where he sold over 150,000 CD's in just the first two appearances making $2.00 per copy. He made more money in a few hours then he probably made in his entire past career in the music business. It is interesting to read up on this stuff about informercials. Sigel should be on QVC or HSN selling his instructional tapes. he would make more money and it would promote pool as well. It may be in the works already, who knows because it makes sense. It could be a little of a gamble but could pay off in a big way for any pro player who gave it a shot. A guy like Keith or Grady could actually become a millionaires from this stuff.

I think its well worth it also. If you break it down its like $6 bucks a match. Most accu-stats are $15-$30 a piece and thats just for 1 match!!!
