1886 Billiards Silent Film

I guess Perpetual Youth is another name for a seniors tournament. I didn't put two and two together when I was watching the video and I was thinking everyone back in those days must have all been 90! Haha.

If you want to talk about ancient, I saw Charles Peterson put on an exhibition at the Michigan State Fairgrounds in 1962 or 63. He would have been 82 then (I was slightly younger :)). He could still execute some very difficult trick shots and move around the table with agility. I think he died a few years later. One of you history buffs will probably find that date before me.

So I am ancient enough to have seen this man shoot pool. And plenty glad to still be here to talk about it. :)

I have another old video of Peterson shooting (when he was young).

I'll get it converted and uploaded and let you know.

I also have the short film titled, "The 924 Club" with Welker Cochrane

And the short film "The Willie Hoppe Story"

Sound?

I also have the Peterson, oval table and perpetual youth film. I know that they were silent, but I also have the 924 Club with Cochrane, do you have that one with sound? I seem to recall that I used to have a copy of that short with sound and Cochrane talking. The copy I have now is silent. I am converting that stuff to video and intend to put it on my website.

I am also posting my pool movie screenplay, "Roxanne's Game," in serial form on my website. Scene l and scene ll are available for perusing on this link: www.scriptforroxannesgame.blogspot.com/ It's loosely based on the road adventures of Jack and Barbara C**ney, and a few others.

Edison's Kinetoscope was actually displayed in 1891. But the the French duo, the Lumiere brothers are widely credited with the invention of the portable motion picture camera in 1895.

The Lumiere brothers often don't get the credit they deserve. I thought the one in Beauty and the Beast was terrific.
