Hi Guy,

Here's an interest cue from the 1930 that appears to already have an A-Joint design with a handle and butt sleeve. The cue had the original leather wrap on it that I removed thinking it was a full splice cue. It's such a nice blank...hoping I can add some inlays and convert this to a bushka style cue.

Check it out:

Is this one of the cues that sold on Ebay recently?

I got probably one of the best bargains on one of them. Mine is full splice.

If that's the cue I think it is I figured it was not full splice.

Anyway, these are really cool blanks. If it is from the same source I am thinking there were some really cool old cues with really cool splices.

I'll look forward to seeing what you do with this!

Duc: if you complete the project I'd like to see the results. Should be very interesting to see...thanks for showing....Doug

yep

Yep,
I'd bet that is the ebay cue your thinking of. I tried to snipe it (sorry) but I didn't get all my windows open fast enough. I figured it was not fullsplice when they said it had a little warp in it. Sorry I cost you a little extra on this cuemaster98:thumbup: Looks like it could turn into a really nice cue.

Both?

I see (thru my didnt win history) you got the fullsplice one as well from the same seller. I don't feel as bad now (kidding). Man, I really liked that one. I was just gonna have a refinish done and play the crap out of it.

Yes...these two blanks exceed my expectation...and they are both straight:eek:. I just can't believe that I picked them up so cheap...I originally offer him more than what I ended paying for them.

The full splice one is the best blank that I've seen and it's perfect and dead straight. I'm hoping to do something special with both of these blanks.

The blank with the A-Joint will be converted to a bushka style cue with traditional pearl with ivory inlays along with a full ivory butt cap and joint with 3/8-11. Probably will install an elephant ear wrap on this one. Going to grab a nice piece of amboyna burl on ebay for both of these blanks.

As for the full splice, I going to make this into a bumperless hoppe style cue with a piece of fiery amboyna burl with maple. This cue will have an ivory joint with 3/8-11 pin.

IMHO these blanks are a 10 on the cool scale...they blow away Titlist blanks. They don't come up often and I think you made a major score with them. I very much look forward to seeing what you do with them.

1930 full splice conversion.

Here's how the full splice one turn out!! Converted myself with a water based finish. Decided to keep the original ivory joint and keep this one plain and simple.

The splice is sharp in both the top and bottom and plays solid!!!
