1939 Harvey Martin

I have owned several Harvey Martin cues but this is the second nicest only to the ivory handled one I had.

Stamped into the rings above the ivory butt plate ~ MARTIN CUE . LA . CAL . 1936 . LC

Cue is in superb condition a extremely straight considering it is 72 years old.

Two 12mm shafts I believe are billiard shafts stamped LC1 & LC2.

Very nice cue, if anyone wants one there are quite a few in my area that can be had.

What does the Ivory handled cue weigh?

The cue was 57" and 22.1 ounces.

That ivory handled cue reflects how important cuemaker had Martin been doing things that have hardly ever been made before! The idea of sleeving nine rings of ivory to create a handle is ingenious - and I believe he had to use the rings because he did not have a longer sleeve or something else to use as the handle so he used ivory billiard balls!

That cue is incredible and came waaay before it's era and that is what makes every Martin cue extremely important to me. I wish I could hold one in my hands!
