1970's Meucci, good condition... tell me more

I would say your cue is more 80's than 70's but that is just my opinion. I would say about $200 to $225 at a good day on ebay. Good luck with it. Those older ones hit real nice.

There is another gallery on classic cues that will have thi exact cue, but I don't have time to , but the ling you posted is the same cue, only a later reproduction. It is my understanding that logo on your cue dates it back as old as 1984, and tme reproduction model is a OL-5 (oldie 1), while your cue is a MO-5 (meucci original 5), I am not sure how the value compares to the couple of model 1 cues from the same line, but I would think 350 was a reasonable place to start, although you may end up taking up to 100 or so off in order to sell, the market is really in favor of the buyer right now. Someone else may have more or better info for you, but this is my "best guess"

It really isnt that old. The early ones had brass pins and round bumper.

IMO 150 or so.

Best of rolls,

definitely a meucci original 84-8 fom the 80's. i ordered mine in 1988 and still have it. it's one of the nicer meucci cues.

Why does this one have a lighter wrap instead of the typical dark brown wrap

No real reason....all of these cues could come with variations of wrap colors. They could have either used what they had on hand that looked good with the cue, or a customer could have asked for it to have a certain color of wrap. Most likely, though, they just used what they had that matched the cue.

84-8 for sure... I have one that I just picked up and needs to get refinished and my father has the 80-6 which he bought new back in the day... imo one of the nicer cues Meucci made.

The only thing I noticed is your inlays do not match up in the picture. The shaft should match with the butt and it appears yours is off quite a bit. Perhaps this was refinished at one time and that explains the light colored wrap as well? I sent an older Meucci to have refinished a few months ago with the inlays matching perfect and when it came back (pin was bent) the inlays no longer matched yet the pin was straight... lol... aside from other things they did wrong it was sent back and still with them. Anywho, those inlays should match up vertically fyi.

i think the points alternate between light and dark wood on the the 80-6, the 84-8 the points are the same wood. A 80-6 should have the tiny bumper as well...just my observations, McDermotts are more my thing:smile:

points deffinatly alternate and the inlays in the points alternate with the points..

i had bought a 84-8 2nd edition.. only one i ever saw with a factory leather wrap and sold it to my friend.. he may be interested in selling it if anybody is interested..
