A FRIEND OF MINE OWNS THIS CUE. HE BOUGHT IT NEW IN 1977, IT'S ALL ORIGINAL INCLUDING THE TIP. HE WAS CURIOUS WHAT IT'S WORTH AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL HIM.

BOUGHT IN 1977, IT HAS THE OLD STYLE SMALL BUMPER, AND THE MEUCCI ORIGINALS LOGO. THE BUTT IS 29" LONG, AND THE FINISH ON THE FOREARM IS GONE, EXCEPT FOR THE FINISH ON THE POINTS, FOR SOME REASON THAT PART OF THE FINISH IS STILL THERE ON BOTH POINTS. IT'S THE WEIRDEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN A FINISH DO.THE POINTS HAVE BLACK DOUBLE RED AND BLACK VENEERS. THE WRAP IS NOT COATED, AND THE BUTT SLEEVE OF THE CUE STILL HAS THE FISH ON IT, UNLIKE THE FOREARM. THE COLLAR ON THE SHAFT IS CRACKED. SHAFT IS A FULL 13MM, 30 7/8 LONG AND WEIGHS 4.1 OUNCES.

CAN ANY OF YOU GUYS OUT THERE GIVE ME A CLUE WHAT THIS THING IS WORTH. BELOW ARE SOME PICS, THEY SHOULD GIVE YOU AN IDEA OF THE SHAPE OF THE CUE. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

Im not too keen on 2 pointers but its a nice cue nonetheless and a survivor,i would put the value at $300 in its present shape but i am no expert.

That is a real MO 4 from the first catalog. You see a lot of the later version cues, the 84 -3 but the MO 4 is pretty rare to find, especially one that's original. What dates this cue to the first catalog is what looks like a brass screw, the veneer colors, and the small round bumper.

An original MO-4 with the brass screw is not very common. The later versions are seen a lot. Here's the brochure:

The 84 series version only gets $250 or so, give or take a little. However, Meucci collectors would put a premium on this first catalog cue, if they knew the details. Still, it would probably only bring $400 give or take $50 in an auction even if it was in excellent condition. Deduct for the refinish and repair costs this one will need. I think Lenny's $300 is about right.

Ebay is a pretty soft market at the moment!?!?

I'm not sure the overall difference in this cue vs the one's on Ebay over the last week or so.....but, I would guess it would bring between $200 and $300.

You can do a search on Ebay -- go to Sporting goods, search completed listings for Meucci cues. It will show you the completed listings still on file.

I've got a two-pointer with a non-original shaft which I wouldn't let go for less than $200 but.....then again, it's still on my rack

I believe there are a couple of current auctions on Ebay right now for two pointers too!

GOOD LUCK!!! ;)
