Nice example of a Josswest cue
1992 #1410
Birdseye maple with 4 ebony points featuring an ivory diamond in each
4 veneers - black/red/green/natural
Ebony sleeve with 4 large ivory diamonds w/bloodwood inlays and 8 smaller
ivory diamonds.
Alternating ivory and pink ivory (8 each) blocks at A & B and 16 ivory blocks at C. White with black speck linen wrap.
2 shafts, both 13mm with ivory ferrules, one dead straight, the other has minimal taper roll. Both shafts as well as wrap show minor chalk stain.
19oz total weight, do not have separate weights at this time.
Cue is in 85%+ condition, with no major dings or dents. Has one slight scratch on ivory butt cap, but is not cracked.

The owner of this cue passed away approx. a month ago. The estate appointed his good friend to move the cues. This friend asked me to help.
In the coming days there will be an ivory 6 point AE and a pair of custom Kikel cues as well. Because of the nature of the sale, the estate obviously cannot accept trades, and only shipping in U.S.

i remember that era of cues, it was and still is a big cue, there wernt as many cue makers then and it was among the best and still is.
 
Was the "JW" removed from the butt cap during a refinishing of the cue or did some JW's not have it?

The way I understand it, on this one with the ivory butt cap, it was opted to go on the pin.
 
There was a certain time period when it was stamped on the weight bolt or in that area under the bumper. Mine is under there as well as mine is a 1992.
 
From about 1990-1992, Bill Stroud did not put his logo on the outside of the cue, just on the bolt, as shown. This does not mean the buttcap is ivory. He utilized a material that looked just like ivory, grain and all, that was a synthetic material. The buttcap material had nothing to do with the logo placement.
