Is it common for an early Palmer to have a 5/16-14 joint? I always thought Palmer used 5/16-18 exclusively.

Thanks

Has anyone seen a Spain blank on such an early Palmer, or any 1st Catalog cue in general.

According to what I've read, the cues with holes in the pins are the oldest, and Mr. Spain would have been just starting out at the time of it's construction.

cue is an oddball. maybe the pin was changed. chris tate is the one to talk to. maybe back then palmer was using what was availible. also maybe it was a custom order with the 14 pin

dick had a palmer with a green leather wrap once. spain i believe

says b.s. started in 65 so...

theres quit a few with that screw.

nice palmer fullsplice.

That is an early Palmer (Model 9) with a shop made Palmer blank. The joint has most likely been changed out - it doesn't look like any Palmer joint I've seen.

By the way, it's not a Spain blank - he didn't use that handle splice until the 1980's. That's what the Palmer shop made ebony blanks looked like in the mid 1960's.

I was wondering the same thing as I have a titlist Palmer from the second catolog with a 5/16-14 thread pin.

Thank you for your help. Would a picture of the shafts/inserts help determine whether the the screw was changed?

Hi,

Does the pin look like the one on my cue?

Thanks
