2 ball 3 cushion video

Bob Jewett invented that game more than thirty years ago. We used to play it at the student union at Cal. He called it "un-iards".

I wish Bob would chime in on this one. It may be that he learned of the game from elsewhere. I first heard of it from him.

With respect to Dani's force follow shot, he passed up one of the "naturals" that come up in this game. Play a five-railer off the left side and zig-zag the first ball to the upper left corner. We all know that in regular three-cushion, the first ball often comes back into play on that five-railer.

it's a good idea and looks like it could get really fun. I can see a whole bunch of new rules of thumb and patterns evolving to come up with funky kisses. It really could stand as a legit game instead of a novelty, though at first blush it seems too difficult to score more than 1 out of 7-10 tries. Once players get an eye for it though I bet we'd see actual runs.
 
It looks to me like someone could get up there and smack balls around and come up with as many points as someone thinking out their shots. I don't see anyone ever taking that game seriously.

Actually, I didn't invent it, I just played it 40 years ago. It may have been invented by Doug Young or Ilmar(??? the Finnish-looking guy) who were regulars on the carom tables at the time.

While just hitting the balls is one strategy, it's possible to plan shots if you are familiar with the usual kiss angles.

Not really true. Look at how the guy playing the yellow ball. He is really thinking it out. The other guy playing the white ball is just smacking around. The guy playing the yellow ball are thinking a path which hit the rail 3 or 4 times before trying to hit the white ball for the second time. His thinking is quite good, but the strenght he use is terrible.
