$20,000 Challenge to Lou Figueroa.

I realize this is personal between you and Lou but if you are just looking for action you could walk into a lot of pool halls in St Louis and get one pocket action from guys you never heard of who get tired of playing each other all the time and would love a new guy. I wouldn't flash the bankroll because it can be dangerous but I imagine you already know that.

I doubt any of them would buy a case from you so if that is your goal you probably wouldn't like it.

I have all the action I want for as much as I want to bet here in Oklahoma City. :-)

Trust me if people here know I am trying to make a game for 20k there will be a line at the pool room trying to be the first one to get to me.. they will pitch tents as if free Iphones were on offer at Best Buy on Black Friday.

Howdy :-)

About the only thing I would like to say at this point is in regards to John saying I insinuated I stalled our first match to keep it close. That is not true, but then, it is John we're talking about. In fact, now that I think about it, when someone (probably John) originally made that allegation I specifically said at that time, "I did not stall." I mean really? Nobody stalls for $10K.

Udder than that, for those that missed it: non-negotiable is a non-starter. My counter offer is: I will play for $10K, 6 ahead, here in St. Louis. Teacherman has offered to stream it.

I am willing to try and negotiate a game but under no circumstances will I allow the other party to dictate how it's going to go down. John knew that going in. PJ got it right.

Barton's had a 98 at straight pool.

True story.

Not on video. That was done before video cameras were invented.

Good memory though, I am impressed by the number of things I have said that you have retained. Glad to know I have at least one British fan. :-)

I apologize, maybe it was San Jose Dick who said or insinuated that you stalled. Sorry about that.

My offer is firm Lou. Trying to donate another 20k to you and freeze it all up before we hit a ball. This should be a marathon and not a sprint. As I am highly likely to spot you the first several games through my terrible form and lack of one pocket knowledge I feel that ten ahead set is long enough for each player to get the yips out and play their game whatever that may be.

I am not interested in streaming it but I am sure that this can be arranged easily enough at Jamacia Joes. If you want to make it PPV then you and the streamer can have all the revenue. I don't even want my logo on it.

I am not bothered either way. If you don't want to play then I won't call you a two-bit coward the way you did me when I said I only wanted to play for $10,000 and not the 20k your group attempted to high roll me with when this all started on onepocket.org years ago.

You have my offer. 20k posted by the end of November for a ten ahead match at Joes. This might be too much money for your backers, it might be more than you want to play for, you might want to "win" at negotiations and look strong by refusing to come here and play...whatever your reasons are my offer is on the table until next Friday.

Not everyone know that lfigueroa = Lou Figueroa.

Also, it's something that started back on RSB 20 years ago as kind of a counterpoint to all the anonymity. Pat Johnson, Bob Jewett, me and a few others signed their name to their posts as if to say: I stand behind behind what I say and do not hide behind an alias. Or sumthin' like that.

I can respect that :groucho:

1) Who cares how long the match takes for $20k? If you take the purse and divide it by the total number of games they play, it'll STILL be WAY more per game than a HUGE majority of the posters here have ever played for - guaranteed.

2) Lou's response was bizarre. Bizarre to the max. He's clearly the better player by a solar system. Lou's recent post of his 100-something ball 14.1 was very smooth and talented. You can give John 50 years and he wouldn't run balls like that. Forget PJ's MR reply/analysis -- that's the "stupid analyzing the bizarre." If John asked Lou to play at the top of K2, Lou SHOULD be insta-calling and making phone calls to hire the sherpas. Who the hell cares WHERE the last match was played, are you frickin' KIDDING me?!?!?!?!!?!??? If I ran out like Lou and John chirped a $20k bet and listed VERY reasonable "non-negotiables," I'd basically be telling my wife to not expect me around the house too much between now and the match and to book my flight asap. If John wants the match to take place in Mozambique, Lou should make sure his passport is up to date and learn the pops and clicks it takes to ask for a water and where the bathroom is at. Unreal.

3) Lou is clearly a heavy favorite -- what is the line if this goes off? People think John has ZERO chance to win and that can't be true. If someone gives me a REAL line that reflects the REAL difference in ability, I'd like to bet on John.

Lou's post was chicken-shittified to the abso-effing-lute max. Just sayin'.

And.......that's all that needs to be said

This is reason enough to log on to AZ every day for the next few weeks. Thanks for the thread, John.

That said, I can't see Lou losing.

Split the difference & talk $15,000.

Really, is that what you were taught, that rail birds should be chirping between 2 parties trying to negotiate a bet with one another. Really?

Man, those "46 years" of experience is paying off in spades

You have nothing to offer, you are not backing anyone and most likely won't bet one thin dime, in other words, in regards to Lou and JB "offers" to gamble, you should just STFU and let the men handle things.

whoa, whoa.......:nono:

You can be next in line Anthony. If I win then I will play you the following week the same way, 10 ahead for 20k.

Ok.

Kinda high for me....but come see me...I'll even give you a ball for 200 a game.
And please bring your deadly aiming thing called center to whatever.

You're welcome. I knew if nothing else it would provide some entertainment value. I can see Lou losing but I will have to play my very best and that still might not be enough. About the only way I see myself winning is if I stay calm and play how I know I can and he dogs it. Last time he didn't play that great overall but he did play very steady and stayed very calm.

So we will see, or maybe we won't. In any event we will have something to talk about for a week or so.

Oh you have quite a few british fans, don't worry about that. We love a bit of farce, us.
