One merit of this contest is to encourage players sharing knowledge in the public and elevate everyone's skills. Teach the little kid who's watching you; he might very well be the new world champion in year 2020. In his memoir, there will be something like, "When I was 9, there was this odd dude... ". Meanwhile, I believe you will learn a great deal yourself.

Hopefully this little justure will help displaying a healthy image of pool and make it popular again. :)

9 foot table is the official equipment used in most tournaments today. No disrespect to other sizes.

Hey Wei!

If the intent is to share knowledge then you really ought to take all entries no matter what size pool table is used. The 3.5x7' table is the most commonly played on pool table in the United States with over 260,000 people playing on them several times a week in organized league play. Wouldn't it be better to have tons of content from enthusiastic people so you could pick the best ones and showcase them? If there are advantages/disadvantages to different sized tables then having the video of the same drills on different tables is the best way to show and discuss that aspect.

I'll make this offer to anyone else. Send me your videos of you doing anything on the pool table and each month we'll pick the best one and the winner gets a $200 Gift Certificate, The Runner-Up gets a $100 Gift Certificate and 3rd place gets a $50 Gift Certificate. Please include your information, a good description of what you are doing, and a short bio of your pool playing history. Send all your videos to john@sterling-gaming.com or a link where they can be downloaded/viewed. I'll start this now and announce a July winner at the end of July.

Now this is a great idea!

Way to go John! IMO, you're right on the money! This drill is not particularly difficult. I did it on the first try, when the contest was first announced...but I didn't have a camera with me. Tell Scott a big thanks from ALL the poolplayers out there/here too! :D

Kudos to Andy...you have a very nice stroke, and great CB control!

Good shooting Andy! But didn't you notice you missed the 8 and the 14? You can still get the 7 on those buckets, lol, and you know I like to bet really high, too! You must've recovered that table. Next time you should shim it tight.

Thanks Colin, the contest you started before was excellent although we ran into a tech issue in the middle of it. The program is stable now and it would be great to see more like this with small prizes.

Imo the rules will be more apparent after a few runs of fun

There are features such as travelling distance and pivot angle calculation tools to help the judges in scoring.

Thanks to Wei for running this challenge. I've been a bit busy of late, otherwise I would have given it a shot. But might have taken me a couple of days to get that drill down.

Perhaps there can be some kind of subjective judging system. Like a panel of judges deciding placings based upon execution skill, video quality, video popularity, creativity etc.

Hey unknownpro,

I didn't remember missing the 8 so badly during the run. In my typical wrong focus, I was watching the cue go across the table. The 14 was all nerves! The table was just recovered as you noticed and they certainly slide in right now.

The Planet Pool Tiger tour has definitely stepped up. I'm not exactly threatening to win the events these last couple years. Lots of good runout players.
