I'd use a bicycle pulling a red radio flyer wagon if it meant that I would have beer on ice while at the Derby! :D
T,

I'll have my cooler. I'm driving, but saving the alcohol for when I get there. If it is like years before, we may need it. It's not one of the warmest times of year to be in Louisville. I feel bad for the players I have seen napping in the cars in the past.

See you there.

I was wondering about the climate inside. I doubt it's going to be any colder than what I'm dealing with right now. (10 & 18 degree's). I was curious as to how warm or cool the hotel is? Am I going to freeze my a$$ off while I sit at the booth or while I'm watching the tournament? Or should I bring some t-shirts along because between the heat & the number of people, it's really hot?

I'll be there for the whole thing!!!

My 2nd year attending - I have marked the DCC as our (Alex and I) "yearly" vacation for every year from here on out!

You must attend if you are someone who loves the game.

PC,
I was unaware that you lurked here; BUT if Alex and John Schmidt are planning on matching up again in straight pool, I hope they will consider having the match in the AZBilliards private room (at least they won't have to feed quarters to the table for 5 hours like they did before).

Also, we will provide a scorekeeper, along with free refreshments for the duration of the match. If they are interested in having a referee (straight pool is even MORE tense with "all-ball fouls") we will provide one; and even put him in a tuxedo if they wish. The AZB audience consists of the true pool fanatics; and we would all be very appreciative.

I still have my scoresheet from their epic match two years ago, and I can tell you it was the most exciting and interesting pool match I have ever seen. Have fun at the DCC.

The venue isn't that cold. A little cool, but not bad. The weather outside is what I was talking about. It seems I had to walk to the car for something 2 or 3 times a day. And it's cold as a well digger's you-know-what.

You should be OK at the booth or in the pool room, but I would bring some warm clothes just in case.

Keep in mind that it is a little cold, esp. late at night. (Layering is key!) Also, it tends to be very smoky in the action room and in front of the tournament room.

I'll be there for the entire time and am really looking forward to it, as usual. This will be my sixth time there I think....

I'm also excited to meet many of the AZBers and to see old buddies!

I used to drink the heavier stuff.... Yuengling Lager was my favorite but it helped contribute to my weight gain. Bud light, coors light, miller lite, Mich ultra... it's all good! I can drink some other stuff too...A beer is a beer when ya ain't got one! ;)

:p

I haven't missed one yet, don't plan to start now! I'll be bringing the home made chili for the late night jam sessions!

just more hot air!

Regarding the last sentence.......are you showing up with NO clothes???

If you bring T-shirts with you, bring the wet ones.

LOL, yes I'm showing up with clothes. I just didn't want to pack all sweaters and then have the place be really warm & be too hot. I guess if it was hot, a wet t-shirt would cool me down. Unfortunately for you, I don't have any white t-shirts. Most of mine are dark or have a screen printing on them. ;) :D
