It looks like first place is $10,000 short and the entry fee is $100 bigger. It doesn't look like you are wrong again. :)

Idea-wise, jacking the entry a hundo and slashing the 1st place money is right up there with the infamous "jump to conclusions mat"

The Perfect Storm

There's a horrible category 5 Atlantic hurricane scheduled for that area Oct. 20th-22nd. (as usual) :)

The prize fund now pays deeper into the field. Compare the above numbers with these:

Last year for example, Allen Hopkins placed T-17 and got $1500. According to the above schedule, he'd make twice that if he finished the same this year.

You're correct.

When one first looks at the payout, the first thing that is noticable is that first place prize goes down 10,000. However, many, many other places will be paid much higher. The minimum payout is 1000. I think the players will appreciate this more.

I will be in that event for sure this year!!!!! yeaaaah :)

ditto. nothing like spending 600 bucks to have a chance to play one of the greats.

First thing that pops out is $100,000 Added Money! Now, that's strong!!! A big jump from past year's as well. I think 72K was the added money the last few years.

Last year with the 50K on top, the prize money was top heavy. This new payout schedule is excellent! $100 is a small jump in the entry fee and long overdue. I think he'll fill the field this year, all 256!

Barry has once again solidified the U.S. Open as one of the premier events in Pool. Definitely the best tournament we have in the USA!
