2010 Mosconi Cup London

Last thread on this there appeared to be a lot of people thinking about it but not sure how many actually going, we are and really looking forward to it. Staying with my Parents in Sussex, then up to London on the Thursday for the Mosconi see you all there.

Just over 3 weeks to go!!! i'm going to be there to cheer on Europe..Atmosphere is gonna be great! i can't wait.
I think the place will be dead for Thursday but Friday,Saturday and Sunday will be sell-outs.

I'm headed that way in 15 days. This should be a great one, with all ten players on top of their games right now. World Champions, U.S. Open Champs, #1 Eurotour players, leading money winners, these guys are the cream of the crop. I'm expecting some real fireworks this year. I can't remember any past Mosconi cup with such strong teams on BOTH sides!

Tickets are nearly sold out apparently, so anyone still thinking of coming better get some fast!

I'm going to be there for all sessions along with Sanjay and Bbq Bob.

The U.S. team has an edge on the Euros....Nick Varner as Captain and the rest of the team will make for a hugely successful outcome.

The Euros have an excellent team.....but the U.S. will take home the trophy.

See you all there.

Hoping to see some great Pool and loving that we'll be back in the UK but it's too close to call IMHO. Jay is right about the sides, I don't think I ever remember both sides being this strong, it will be a great match and I cannot see it finishing early this time. It's also great to see the Cup back at the York Hall and I hear it's been refurbished, might not be quite as cold in previous years! I heard about Johnny burning his pants on a heater because it was so cold in the players room one year :)

The Euro fans are some of the most knowledgeable and loudest in the World. It's going to tough on Team USA, especially those who have not played at York Hall before but it's going to be awesome.

Go Team USA.

I was told a week ago or so that all of the seats on the ground level were gone but there are still some balcony seats.

I had an email from Luke Riches Matchroom Media Director yesterday and below is an exert from that e-mail:

FOLLOWING A STAMPEDE for tickets over the past few weeks, Matchroom Sport can announce that 83% of all tickets to the four days of the 2010 PartyCasino.com Mosconi Cup have now gone.

Apart from Thursday evening, where there are just 15 tickets left, all downstairs reserved seats for all sessions of the PartyCasino.com Mosconi Cup have now sold out.

In addition, Saturday evening is totally sold out in all areas and Saturday afternoon has just a few left upstairs.

However, there are still tickets available for all other sessions in the upstairs balcony area, and in the bear pit-like set up at the York Hall, it is arguably one of the most atmospheric views in world pool.

A total of 2,526 tickets have been purchased by pool fans from across Britain, Europe and America as pocket billiard’s most exciting event makes its eagerly anticipated return to the York Hall, Bethnal Green, East London, dubbed by many as the spiritual home of the Mosconi Cup.

Taking place from Thursday 9th to Sunday 12th, there are six sessions in total – Thursday and Friday evenings and then afternoon and evening sessions on the Saturday and Sunday.

Commented Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn, “The interest in this event is absolutely incredible and ever since we announced the York Hall as the venue for Mosconi Cup XVII, the phones have never stopped ringing.

“Not having staged the Mosconi in the UK for eight years now, it is exciting to realise that the event has really come of age.

“Fans are spending their hard earned cash to travel to the tournament from all over the UK and Europe and there is even a fair-sized travelling army heading across from the USA.

“The two sides are hyped up for this one and ready to give it their all and it promises to be a Mosconi Cup unlike any other.

“The tickets are flying out the door and I expect a complete sell out by December 9th, and with it, one of the greatest sporting atmospheres of 2010.”

See you all there..............Go USA

I will be there for the opening session. Cant wait. My first live Mosconi experience. :)

USA has a very strong team, as do the Europeans. Im hoping that being on home soil our Euro boys can bring home the trophy. This is going to go down to the wire this year.

will Michaela Tabb be one of the refs? if so, thats just about worth the price of admission right there..
