2011 DCC Video "CaliRed" Presents - Episode 8 - Justin (JCIN) from Tar Interview

Welcome Pool Fans! I got a special treat for you today. A interview with The Man, The Legend, The GrandDaddy of Streaming, The Dude behind TAR! Recorded at the 2011 Derby City Classic in the TAR Action Room on January 27th, 2011.

Getting a interview with Justin at the Derby was one of my priorities, as he has been the person responsible to allowing me and countless other fans, to have some idea of what the Derby was like, not having ever been there.

He was a very busy man there, someone was playing most of the time in their room. I finally ran into him about 12:30 pm on the 27th, and he knew I was trying to get a interview with him so he said how about right now. I knew at this point, you jump on any opportunity you get, so I said sure!

Justin was very sick and feeling like major crap, so him sitting thru a interview and speaking for 90 mins, had to been hell on him. Justin, thanks a lot for doing that for me. I appreciate it very much.

Could I have edited this down and made it short and sweet? Sure... but I'm actually the kind of guy that likes to hear and watch unedited material. I like to know that everything is in context and enjoy watching real life unfold as it does in real time. So I bring you to about 87mins of Justin Unplugged. No fancy crap, just him, me and a pool table.

I broke it up into 2 parts, to minimize redo's, if it crapped out while uploading. Each file was about 1 gig, so it takes awhile.:)

http://www.vimeo.com/calired You'll see those 2 as the latest files. Remember, you can view these full screen (this particular video, there's not much to look at, it's a stationary camera) If you stutters for you, maybe you should right click on the video and Choose Turn HD Off.

Also, chatting with him the other night, he's got some stuff in the works that will really make us pool fans happy! So keep your eye on TAR!

Hope you enjoy it, and comments are welcome to let me know you watched. (sorry, I was unprepared and had no script, so I'm flying off the seat of my pants on this, and for that matter, so is JCIN)

Some other info to go along with this post.

At one point we talk about the History of TAR thread

2 things you can do if your connection can't keep up.

1. Right click on the video and choose Turn HD off

2. Hit Play, then Hit Pause and do something else for several minutes. You should see the progress bar slowly go grey as it's buffering it. You can wait until it's almost all grey and then hit Play again. THen it's not downloading anything, it's playing the cached content

Thanks for taking the time to post this Greg. I enjoyed talking with you that day. Keep up the good work with the interviews and behind the scenes stuff.

Cali,

Another great production! It's not an interview, it's a conversation with a new friend. I am glad Justin sat down with you. (Thanks Justin) This is great!

You know what Ben... you're right! I'm not much for normal stuffy interview crap. I like to just sit down and talk with people and let it go wherever it goes.

Great observation Ben!

I actually enjoy viewing this kind of pool-related media on my computer, much more so than sweating the pool competitions, but that's just me.

Thanks for doing this. I believe this is *exactly* the kind of video clips that can elevate pool. People want to connect with pool, and this kind of medium fills the niche. I enjoy behind-the-scene pool video clips like this. I'd like to see more in the future! :)

Thanks

"Great Job" Greg

I know this level of production takes a LOT of work and time.

The pool world is very lucky to have guys like Greg and Justin !!!!

I will be looking forward to your awesome work in the future.

Thanks again "C.D."

That was Great! "If you don't want to hear the word $hit at 3am...don't take your kids to a strip club". Magic
