2011 st.louie louie roberts award

Hope Dippy wins it... it's not his fault if pool players want to gamble with him with all the crazy action he can get.

The award is for action and entertainment. There have been plenty of non-entertaining action that gets overlooked because nobody was watching!!!

I hope Dippy Dave makes an appearance and puts on a good show.

This makes me wonder how Jeanette won then. She did play alot and gambled....but entertaining?????? NO, not even in the least!! Heck, Richie Richeson, Chris Bartram, Ricky Byrd, and a few others played as much as she did and were more entertaining I would say.....

Nope, she was just a celebrity that played and gambled.....hope the award goes to someone more deserving next year....And FWIW, she didn't do anything but play and ***** and ***** and ***** and ***** actually. Strong Arm did all the negotiating for her....so that would have made him the true receipient instead of her...

Can someone who already won the award, i.e. Shane or Chris, win again?
Until Greg Sullivan tells me different, then anyone can win the award, including past winners.

The rules are about as simple as they get. People (any forum member people) who are in attendance of the DCC can vote for whom they feel is worthy of getting the Louie Roberts A/E award. The one with the most votes wins. The voting is weighted so "first place" vote weighs heavier than a "second place" or "third place" vote.

Ricky Byrd could be a contender...
He is usually in contention.

Just to clarify, what is the prize, Fred, for the Louie Roberts A&E Award?

If there is no prize money and it is free entry and lodging for life, then why would this be awarded to somebody twice?

Maybe it is different than I thought.

I think this is where people come to an erroneous conclusion about repeat winners. The award is the recognition of being voted the most entertaining person who provides action at the Derby City Classic. The recognition includes having their image on a banner hung among the tournament champions.

The winner gets free entry and DCC hotel for life. Since this is a recognition and an added bonus that Greg Sullivan puts out from his pocket and not a paid entry contest, there is nothing that disqualifies a person from winning the recognition twice. They wouldn't get an additional room or additional entry fee, if that's what people are wondering.

That alls seems obvious to me, but then again, my focus is on the recognition of the person who provides entertainment and action.

Ah, I see. So, aside from Greg's generous out-of-pocket gift of free entries and lodging for life, the recipient gets bragging rights as well as their likeness included twice on the banner of tournament champions.

I know at Snooker's in Providence, RI, Ginky has his name on several banners that hang over tables. Of course, that was then at the old Snooker's. I'm not sure if they still do that at the new Snooker's. :)
