Who do you believe is the Cuemaker of the Year? Which cuemaker made an impression on you in 2012 in terms of the execution, design, overall quality, customer service, etc. To me there are about 3 that stood out in 2012.

I'm using SurveyMonkey since the AZ Polls are limited to 25 entries. I believe I have done a pretty good job with the cuemakers list, but I cannot list everyone.

Below is the link to the poll.

layed my vote down for this jaime....thanks again for all you do for us cue nuts...hope to see you in april

Awesome list. I nominated Jake's cue because:

1) The design was new and different
2) It just plain worked. Not overdone. Not overdone. It flowed.
3) It was a new take on a classic look.
4) It was awesome. It made me want to see more from him.

But in this poll, I voted for Thomas Wayne. I saw a few of his cues this year that really showcase WHY he's in the upper echelon. Some AMAZING stuff. And that 30th Anniversary cue is a PERFECT example.

Jamie,

I think it's worth to mention some people not on the list:
- Dick Neighbours, KJ Cues, Kenny Koo, Jim Pierce, Bob Dzuricky, Leon Sly, myself, Larry Vigus, Kim (whamo?), Chris Hightower, Michael Webb, Joey Bautista, Bob Flynn among many others that I can not recall.

........

Jaimie, i guess with anything new there will always be some room for refining. It was probably a good idea to go ahead and kick this off this year to help work the bugs out. If i havent said it...Thanks

The other poll is a different story when it comes to me, because its a cue. With this poll, I feel at this point i'm on a list of honorable guys who have worked their ass off to get there. I also know there is host of folks far more qualified than me who are not there. I will certainly earn my spot one day, but not today, and not with one cue.

I don't believe i have got any votes so far, and hope that I can be removed or that people will infact vote for a real cuemaker.

Again, thanks for your efforts. I know these kind of responses have to suck when you've worked hard at something.

I have to agree. I am sure a lot of work went into the list. But it is a little short. There are some really big names missing, including a couple of hall of fame members. It worthwhile to at least mention them.

Not sure what HOF cuemaker I may have missed who have made in cues in 2012 that would be in the running for Cuemaker of the Year. Tad comes to mind, but I do not remember any significant new designs or cues out of that shop this year.

Yes, it is not a complete list of EVERY cuemaker. But I believe it is a complete list of any cuemaker that would be in the running for 2012 cuemaker of the year.

Tony, I know your feelings were hurt you are not on the list. I apologize for anyone I may have missed.

Again, its more about bringing cues to the forefront and making people aware of what's going on in the cue world than anything else.

Jamie,

How can my feelings be hurt when none of the cues I built last year were as fancy as the ones submitted.
But there are quite a few names missed that's for sure.

Let's just say it's an "honorable mention" of names not on the list. I'm not complaining at all.

.

Jamie,
nice job again my Friend but I not see a new Searing and Showman in 2012;)
maybe I'm blind, lol.
Thanks,
Ralf

how is this poll different from the cue of the year poll??

Cue of the year is for a particular cue; cuemaker of the year is for the body of work.

Jamie, thanks again for doing this!! It's a great and unique idea.

I know the poll is missing many cuemakers and some big names too are missing but, it seems to me that every (or almost every) cuemaker who had magnificent cues on this forum in 2012, are represented.

No problem--When I first read the thread, I thought it was the same thing--I thought maybe it was just the results of the cue of the year. I misread it initially :wink:

Without folks willing to share pics of their cues (or knowing there's a place where they can see them appreciated in such a manner), it'll be next to impossible for all AZers to be able to take them into consideration for voting. I'm sure there were some other "BiG mOnStErS" that many of us didn't get to see for one reason or another. Hopefully any future process will have a way to include as many of these great cues as possible.

Sean (just thinking out loud here....)

Great job again this year, Jamie. This has gotten better and better and is so good for the cue industry imo !!!!!!!!!!

Pretty much this, no matter how much fun I have disagreeing with mia ;)

Jamie,

Looks like the poll malfunctioned. Everybody is back to zero now.

How was this group of cue makers put together.. by a group, or did the op alone decide on who should be AZB cue maker of the year? Just curious..
