It is time to begin reserving your hotel rooms at Horseshoe Southern Indiana Casino Hotel for the 14th annual Derby City Classic to be held January 20-28, 2012. Please book online if possible, as this works perfectly. If you call to make your reservation, please let the agents know that you are calling for this tournament at Horseshoe Southern Indiana, present one of the booking codes below, that the property has informed you that rooms are available, and if the agent cannot book ask them to look up the event in the Offers/Groups in Factory for Horseshoe Southern Indiana. If you cannot get resolution from the reservations agent, please ask for a supervisor to get you booked.

--------------------------------------Hotel Reservation Info--------------------------------------

Rooms are limited, so book early. See http://www.dcctickets.com for event details.

There are two types of room reservations that can be made. We are offering a discounted 9-day package for the entire period which spans all of the Derby City Classic events, arrive January 20 and depart January 28, 2012, which now includes an option to book the Thursday prior to the tournament and/or the Sunday night after the completion of the tournament. You also have the option to book any individual dates for any time during the tournament at the regular rate if you wish.

Here are some very important notes on room reservation policies:
• Every room reservation requires a charge of the first night's deposit at time of reservation.
• This deposit is taken at the time of booking and is nonrefundable. No exceptions will be made.
• A maximum of four people are allowed to stay in each room. Rollaway beds are not available.
• If the discounted 9-day package is booked and any one of the nine nights is canceled, all room discounts will be revoked. Prices for all nights booked will revert to the full individual date prices.
• Must be 21 to rent room.

I'm trying to book from Jan 19 through Jan 28.

I'm having lots of trouble using the online booking. Depending on which link I use (from DCC homepage, or the link in this thread), I get errors that the max reservation is 7 days, and it kicks me out of the system.

Then when I use the link in this thread, it lets me book the 20-28 for 99, but the 19th goes to the full rate. This is contradictory to what is in the post.

Also, the post itself has wrong dates.

Was anyone able to successfully book Jan 19 through Jan 28 for 99 each night?

Thank you.

Calling on the telephone was absolutely MURDER. I was being transferred for an hour from one person to the other.

After explaining the reservation code, and all the information in the post in this thread, their systems were telling the agent that those nights are not available. The phone number takes you to the main reservation office. I told them to transfer me to a supervisor (like written in the post) (and actually the agent must have had the post in front of them because they had all the same information I had), they transferred me to the actual hotel to see if they had different information than the main reservation office (instead of the supervisor).

I asked the actual hotel front desk to book a room, and they transferred me back immediately to the main reservation office (off site), which I was just at! lol.

I then talked to a second agent there, and explained what just happened. So I had to give her all the exact same information I had JUST given 20 minutes ago to the first agent. After 10 minutes of giving her the same information, low and behold, her system told me the same thing, that there were no rooms. This agent then suggested to transfer me to the actual hotel. I told her I was just there, and they sent me back here. She said she would introduce the problem to the actual hotel person.

So after another long hold session, I get in touch with the main person at the actual hotel information. She tells me that she can't do anything, and has no access to booking information, and has no idea why the main office transferred me to her. She said she would transfer me back to the main office. I told here WAIT! I've been on the phone for an hour, please transfer me to a supervisor there, and not just the main system. She said she would.

So when she transfers me, I'm back to the MAIN SYSTEM. lol. The main operator answers and asks how to direct my call. I tell her very politely I've been on the phone for an hour and really need to speak to a supervisor to get resolution for my issue. She says ok, and I get transferred to a new person.

The new person answers, and I preface by saying I've been on the phone for an hour with an issue and really need to speak to a supervisor. She says she is a supervisor, but is very busy. I then proceed to tell her I'm trying to book a reservation that I KNOW is available, but the system is telling all the agents its not, and only a supervisor can book it. She asks me for the code, and I give it to her. Then she puts me on hold for a while longer. Then she comes back, and apologizes for all the issue I had, and is able to book my room. From that point on, it took about 3 minutes to get the dates, the room preferences, and the credit card. I got all nights for the promised rate of 99+tax, including Jan 19th.

I told her there were probably lots of other people in the same situation as me, and if I could give them any advice on what to do when they call. She told me that while I was on hold, she actually talked to the agents and did whatever is necessary to the system so that the next person won't have the same issue as me.

Everyone was very nice to me, (and I was always polite), but it was very frustrating when no one knew what was going on until an hour into the call. I would hope the powers that be associated with the DCC that deal with the host hotels can keep my experience in mind for future events, in order to make the reservation process seamless. I will say I was so frustrated at the constant phone transfers and runaround that I was about to hang up and say f--k it, I'm not going to DCC.

In the end I got off the phone happy that it all worked out. I just wish it would have taken 10 minutes instead of an hour. I hope the system is fixed for the next person.

Booking the 19th with the package will now work correctly at the $99 rate. Thank you for letting us know about this.
