<Snip>... how many people are actually watching the stream ... <Snip>

According to David Morris (Kozoom) they have been "averaging 2,500 viewers throughout each day" ... if that helps anything!

I'm picking Appleton to win this one.

SVB, CAN, and two Chinese players, are looking strong. Appleton will loose next round, or next he is not consistently playing his A game, today he was too lucky. Odds are against him from statistics stand point, but certainly when his opponent takes a nap, he will make sure the alarm clock does not ring until the tournament is over...:(

Play starts at 12:00pm Qatar time.

The 2 biggest matches on tap will probably be:

Reyes vs. Boyes
Chang Jung Lin vs. Ko Ping Chung

Also Alex, Corey, Lee Van, Jason Klatt and others are on one loss and need to win today to get into the last 64.

It's an absolutely terrible time for the US, IMO. For me (Western US) it's basically the middle of the night, then there's a break, and then I go to work, so it's hard to catch any of it.

Yes those 2 matches start 2pm local 7am EST
Another good match is Corey v Cheng Chieh

Only a handful of top players are on losers side so the big matches in last 64 will those they play against the winners side. At least 20 from the 32 on winners side should comfortably go thru to last 32
So really most big battles , intense shootouts, juicy matches begin in last 32 which starts Thursday. The players who peak this Thu and Fri will win it all :)

relative to the overall talent that we have in this tournament, shane's two opponents were not that top caliber. it was obvious how easily he beat them. there should have been one or two top players in shane's group, to prepare him for the top-64. players from the qualifiers who's had more games and have faced better opponents could be better and more "conditioned" than him by now like naoyuki, chua, faraon or even elmer haya. shane may be lucky that his group matches were easy, but that could be a disadvantage for him.
