So the draw is up http://news.top147.com/2015/07/00022989.shtml
First match starts in about 12 hrs from now 130pm local time (130am EST)

Free Live stream links not up yet but should be up within 12 hrs . Keep checking at
http://alison-chang.com/china-open-2015/

All the big names and top players are here. I cannot think of many who are not here- maybe Ronnie A, Efren, Buste, Jayson, Dechaine, Corey, Rodney
First stage will be Double elimination 8 groups of 8 players
Below I count 38 players who can win this whole thing. That is half the field of 64 that can win. Super crazy strong field.
Many groups of deaths. Groups A, B, E, G, H have more than 4 top players and only 4 from each group quality to next stage last 32 KO
Chang Yu Lung, Mika, Wu in same group, SVB and Dennis same group, Ko bros, Chang Jung Lin same group

Looking forward to this

he was 8th at 2013 lost to Wu 11-10 (at that match they break and run 8 and 7 times each!!!!!!!at alternate break format!)

Group H is completely insane. Both Ko brothers and Jung Lin Chang in the same group? And NIck VDB in there, another guy who is strong as hell in these elite international competitions.

There is no other group in the event that throws out a top 4 like that group, any one of those guys has a realistic chance of winning the event and IMO the 3 Taiwanese guys could all be considered among the favorites. Big Ko and Jung Lin Chang might be the #1 and #2 seeds in the freaking thing, both are complete killers and they have both won huge events like this before.

Yeah, I'd call Group H the hardest group by far.

SVB upsetted by Quan 3-9 so if Shane loses his next match he is out. His next opponent looks like Jason Klatt, not easy
If Quan sounds familiar , he is the poor guy that Barry B tried to stiff out of his prizemoney in last years US Open

Chang Jung Lin lost to Kevin Cheng . Not really an upset
So Group H is really the big Group of Death, cos it also has Kevin Cheng in the mix- 4 top Taiwan elite players in same group

:D

Id have to bet there was some funny business in putting that group H together. I dont usually buy the conspiracy stuff but IT IS CHINA and that doesn't seem too random to me-lol

Cisco Diaz- of Spain but who spent what seems to me as a couple of years in the States put Lombardo on the one loss side also so the USA is not looking good atm

That's just awesome!!
You beat me to it Arps. I also noticed Pigeons were playing in this.

Oops Carlo still alive LOL
Won his 1st match then lost winner side to Lee Van 6-9

I doubt so. If they want to stop the Taiwan top players, they just have to create some clause to ban them :D Anyway, men's 9ball/10ball is not big in China compared to snooker or Chinese 8 ball. Smaller money, smaller audience. Just have to look at the big spectator crowds in snooker/C8B compared to this
Politically they appear to fight but in sports, business etc it is business as usual and there is lot of cooperation. In pool for years, Taiwan players/coaches have been coaching China players :D
