***2015-Made Cues***

I figure I start this thread early so we can start accumulating nominees for the end of the year. I know a lot of cues get forgotten over the course of 12 months. I will be editing and updating this thread for the year and then we can make a short list of cues.

Feel free to post any cues you have received in 2015.

This is the unofficial long list.....

So let me ask if you've run this by Jamie......it sounds like you want to lend a helping hand but it could be construed as messing with someone else's work......Cue of The Year Contest.

I tend to think if this would be a helpful approach, Worminator would have already started a thread like this. The Cue of the Year Contest works just fine right now and I'd like to learn Jamie's thoughts since you are really walking in his footsteps. I also know you like saving pictures of cues and so I hope this isn't a ploy just to entice people to bring you photos of their top end cue designs. Just remember it's up to the cue owner to decide if they want their cue entered in the Cue of the Year 2015 Contest or even displayed in anyone's thread but their own. It silly to think that people forget about cue of the year possible nominees. Everyone recalls a cue that we saw that impressed us and we aren't likely to forget that cue either. I don't see much value to this thread since cues already get posted in the Cue Gallery. In any event, I'm interested in learning how Jamie views this thread.

p.s. Brian Park's Cohen cue was made in 2014 and isn't eligible for the 2015 contest unless the rules change.

I think it's a great idea.

Why would anyone be upset? This will b a great thread for reference if maintained

No Brian Parks cue was actually finished January 4th 2015.

I have to agree..

Hopefully this will help bring more participation to 2015..

2014 was Flat (no fault of Jamie's)

I am by no means taking over because the Cue of the Year contest is ran perfectly. Kudos to the person.

Perhaps the joy of the contest are the 'forgotten cues' that get nominated. So I will just compile my own list.

Like I originally stated, I think this idea could be good.

When I read.......... " I figure I start this thread early so we can start accumulating nominees for the end of the year."
I didn't know who "we" were. dom also wrote that he'd add and edit the thread so that "we can make a short list of cues."

In his last post, dom stated "Perhaps the joy of the contest are the 'forgotten cues' that get nominated. So I will just compile my own list."

I agree with him about that aspect of pool collecting/selling/buying. It just that I thought his original thread sounded a little ingenuous referring to "we"
and this year's "Cue of the Year Contest" since the contest has always been conducted by Jamie pretty much solo. I guess I'm splitting hairs but it
just sounded odd, almost like a ruse, the way the original thread was composed.

If dom wants to collect cue pictures, just write the thread that way but it struck me as odd because Jamie was never mentioned. So I questioned if dom
ran this by Jamie which I think is only appropriate? I don't recall his answer but in any event, it's wrong to piggyback on another man's hard work without
that person saying it's okay to do that, sort of like copyright protection.

I suppose this is really Jamie's call and I'll await to see how he feels about this thread. Personally, it sounds like this was more like a way to gather cue
photos for dom without having to search the Forum and a lot less like this was to help Worminator conduct this year's Cue of the year Contest. I admit
that I might be misjudging the circumstances and don't want to act like the Soup Nazi from Seinfeld about dom's thread.

I couldn't find if Brian's cue had been entered in last year's contest and that's great news because it's a dandy......it's a strong contender except for the
fact that the GTB cue will also get entered.....I was out of town this past weekend for The Rocky Tournament in Fresno and Brian usually makes that one.
I was hoping to see his Cohen cue in person if he was able to attend the tournament.

This is a great idea. I thought about doing something like this but never took the initiative to put it together in a manageable way.

I think having a thread to accumulate cues for Cue of the Year is the best approach to capture more entries. I do think it needs to be moderated and comments should not be allowed. The only purpose for the thread would be to archive cues for the final poll. This would make it much easier to manage than having to sift through comments and replies along with pictures of the cues. Cues could also be posted in a separate threads where comments would be welcome.

I would need help from the mods to make this work in the most efficient manner.

I like the idea, this helps us have more visibility to the cues through-out the year. And would add to Jamie's contest.

Slight Alteration

I suggest a slight alteration to the contest.

Nominees should include pictures and specs but withhold the name of the cuemaker. The result would be that votes would be cast on the design and creativity rather than being biased for or against a certain cue.

Some makers it's impossible to hide, think Haley.

I do hope the Mods appreciate how noteworthy the Cue of the Year Contest has become for the AZ Forum and offer Jamie the help and assistance he needs to improve the overall contest.
