2016 US Open 9 ball/ 9ft (16-22 Oct2016) Norfolk, Virginia (Winner $50K)

There have been debate alternative vs winner breaks here AZB also. Glad to hear Shaw showed for us why pool is better to watch with winner breaks! :D

My mistake. For some reason I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be alternating break this year.

That's what I get for thinking on my own without any help. LOL

Plus it sounded more impressive when I thought it was alternating break

It would be LESS impressive to make a come-back with alternating break....
...because then you need your opponent's cooperation to win.

It seems like SVB nearly always beats Dechaine. He must have something like a winning percentage of around 90 against Dechaine.

What he has is that he owns waterfront real estate in Mikes head & only Mike can decide how long he'll let Shane live there.

Thank the gods for winner breaks. Now all of you proponents of alternating break puhleeeze explain how alternate break makes for more exciting matches again.....

it figures that the best match of the US Open takes place when I'm sleeping like a baby in the wee hours.

Must re-examine my dedication. Obv.

Please run this match as an encore later today!!!

best,
brian

Lucky Ko is on the hill.

As a fan sitting in the front row and making a fool of myself through this match (felt like it was a slam dunk contest at time),
I wonder how many people went to bed at this point?

The guy sitting next to me is from my area that I'm helping to improve his game (6 month new player) and this was his first live US Open *match* ever!

Amazing stories all around. Jeremy Jones!!!! I am so mad I haven't seen his matches by it seems he must be locked in pretty good! Super strong field. This tourney seems pretty good so far huh?

KMRUNOUT

JJ looks amazing this week. As good as when he won.

Freddie <~~~ go Jayson!

Anyone know what time the winner's side matches are scheduled for today? They the 2:00 slot?

David Alcaide vs. Shaw
Jeremy Jones vs. Chang J.L.

Great match
Incredible Jayson blunder and touching cb
Ko break coming together in rack 9
Bounce the 1 and shot on 1 open table to run out
Ko 6-3 :)

He actually touched the 3-ball. Very awkward. Jayson made so many mistakes. Ko got two amazing rolls that worked his way (6-ball hung and somehow dropped, and the cueball hung and somehow didn't drop-same pocket, back-to-back games) and somehow, Shaw still won.

Watching it live - yeah, be jealous. I can't remember a more exciting match.

Well atleast me ,, sometimes the hardest thing to do is win that last game and some times the easiest thing to do is come back from way down you got nothing to lose and if you get it close the other guy starts to feel a frog in his throat
