Quarter final predictions: Shaw vs Ouschan, Pagulayan vs Biado, SVB vs Bing, Grabe vs Kevin Cheng.
Semi final predictions: Shaw vs Biado, SVB vs Kevin Cheng.
Finals predictions: Biado vs SVB.
Predicted winner: SVB.
But he then beat Chamat and Appleton in the group stage.

Don't get me wrong, I give Omar lots of credit for what he's doing. But Chamat and Appleton are yesterday's news in my book. Their best days are way behind them, especially Chamat's who I think came to Qatar just for the kicks. I would love to see Omar beating Shane, since I'm not an SVB fan, but I have a feeling Shane will make light work of him. This year's draw is smiling at him, he won't get a better chance than this to win the WC.

With Wu gone early I believe Shane will win this year.

Yes, I hate to say it but with Wu (who I consider the best player in the world) out, his chances have increased considerably.

I can see your Semi Final happening but I want Shaw over Biado.
If Biado beats Shaw, I like Alex over Biado.
SVB vs Alex final. Talk about Epic with these two mixing it up again in the WPC final.

On paper , Shane is the favorite from here. He will have relatively easy run to final where he will meet either Lil Ko or Biado or Alex
The pitfalls though are
1) he is not battle tested. Unlike last year from round of 16 onwards , he faced monsters all the way until the final- Chang Yu Lung, Dennis, Lil Ko then Big Ko
2) odds are against him getting into 2 consecutive finals. Last time that happened was in 2003 when Alex lost to Thorsten and then came back and won it next year. And no offence to Alex but these days the field is much more stronger than more than a decade ago
3) big part of Shane's game is his break and a lot depends on whether he continues to master the break in next 2 days especially on the TV table where the conditions with the crowd and surroundings are different
The kid who may cause the upset to Shane may be that fearless Greek, Alex Kazakis who beat Shane in tourney and also money match in Greece some years ago. I think this kid is better than Nikos
But I think the winner of the Biado/ Lil Ko last 16 match tomorrow will be the eventual winner :grin-square:
