2017 Derby City Bigfoot 10 Ball

B&R for Shaw to get on the hill. I think that 5-ball miss with BIH for Kazakis was his death knell in this match.

Interview after the match:

"Jayson, is the 10-foot table harder than a 9-footer?"

Jayson: "No, because you've got more room to work on a 10-footer."

Well done Jayson, the repeat Bigfoot champion.

Kazakis was sensational, too, a solid striker of the balls. I'd also call him one of the very best defense/kicking players in the world. His tactical decisions and his tactical execution were both very impressive.

Excellent commentating in the final by Danny and Mark, although they snoozed Jayson's fluked safety after his miss of the nine ball at 7-7, not even mentioning it -- probably the most significant roll of the match.

Jayson is awful tough to beat right now. Looking forward to seeing him in the nine ball.

Thanks to these fine players for such a high quality show.

Ball-in-hand blues.....................

How big of a miss was that? Dude was playing great and BAM!!, he was toast. Did you see how long he just sat in his chair after match? Talk about the "agony of defeat". Hats to JS, that dude is a ball making machine. Looks like he's just practicing as he fires 'em in from everywhere. We'll see more of AK, he's got serious game.

What's up with some of these strange new nicknames?

Calling Ekonomopoulos "Spartacus" is particularly odd. Spartacus was a gladiator/slave who escaped bondage, rose up against Rome, and despite fighting bravely, ended up being crucified. If I were Greek, I'd rather be compared with Alexander the Great, Hercules, Achilles, or Pericles.

Your info is little bit flawed - Spartacus PROBABLY died during the battle of Senerchia 71BC but his body was never found. It was about 6000 survivors of the battle who were crucified along the way from Rome to Capua. ;) To be honest I find nickname Spartacus to be very respectful as you said yourself that he was a very brave man. I certainly wouldnt mind to be called that name

I love history. Thank you so much for this post.

As you no doubt realize, he was crucified in the movie with Kirk Douglas.

First Mosconi points event of the year was Turning Stone, which Billy skipped. Next one is Derby City 9-ball beginning later this week. Let's see how he fares.

You don't often strengthen your case for Mosconi in bank pool. Billy is a top candidate this year for being on the team.

Billy is at 762 now, and you can see from this post over a year ago, he was at 750 already keeping pretty good company in Oct 2015
