2022 World Cup of Pool Draw: Thoughts and Predictions Thread

Will Taipei now play Singapore in the semis, with this afternoon's winners in the other bracket, or will the semi pairings be redrawn? I'd love to see Team USA meet the Ko Brothers in the final, and a semi between USA and Spain wouldn't be shabby.

The brackets are shown in Post number 4 of this thread.

No redraw. The bracket is there, as formed before the event started. Singapore and Taipei are in different halves, meaning they can meet only in the final match. USA/Switzerland faces Singapore in the semis, Spain/GB B faces Taipei.

Singapore is the Cinderella story of this tournament, but USA, Taiwan, and Spain making it to the final four is spot on with early predictions.

This year is one of Europe's weakest performance of the last 10 years. Europe usually has at least 2 in last 4 but this year it has only 1 semifinalist (Spain) . Half of the field of 32 teams are from Europe :D

Right now Spain looks the strongest to me.
Agree. Spain has whole package and firing in all departments -break, shot accuracy, defence, tactical game, decision making, chemistry teamwork. Only thing is they have not had tough match or face adversity like near loss, hill hill. Question is can they perform at same level when they will face their toughest opponents vs Chinese Taipei in semi and likely USA in final

The Brothers Ko should be formidable. I'm hoping for a close, exciting, and well-played match.

If I had to pick right now, I'd say the winner of that match takes the title, though I'm rooting for the newly minted World 9-Ball Champion and his trusty sidecar, Wiley Skyward.
