The murderers' row is bottom quadrant with 7 x800s out of 8 players (The 8th player Xue Zhenqi is 800s but his robustness is only 200+). FSR, Filler, Chang JL, He, Kazakis, Alcaide, Lechner and Xue all fighting for just 1 semifinal spot. To win title, they have to be on a roll play like 850+ and consecutively take down 5x800s in a row. Recent major winners win their major beating 3 to 4x800s (usually non-consecutively) . So it's a tall order for these 8 and I won't be surprised if one of these 8 do not win the title

i would say the top half is tougher now. filler has an easier way to the final than raga or carlo

sets are fairly long and the tables tough so the cream rises to the top even in this format. but the break is too easy. it's possible the outliers (the swiss guy and the mongolian) in L32 wouldn't got there with a harder break rule.
