2023 Predator WPA Women's World 9 Ball Championship

Just saw that Chou won the final 9-0. What happened?
Allison had a couple mistakes early on, including a missed 9 ball to make it 1-1. After that point Chou played great and Allison only came back to the table 2 or 3 more times, but never with an offensive shot.

Edit: Actually Allison did have a shot on the 2 ball when it was 4-0. She wasn't able to get position on the 3 though, then made a bad safety. After that point she may have been back to the table once for a kick shot.

Can’t recall seeing Allison miss a 9 ball shot like that ever - certainly not in a big match. Almost the identical miss as Kelly Fisher had on the 9 ball in her hill-hill match yesterday, and both misses were bad overcuts that didn’t even rattle. The way Chou was playing, it may not have mattered, but we’ll never know.

she put on a clinic, pretty much. very strong showing.
She played nearly perfect pool from the early stages of her semi final match, in which she was trailing by 2 or 3 games. Her only miss I recall in the finals was a relatively tough cut down the rail on the 7 ball in the second game, same game Allison missed on the 9 ball.

I couldnt help but notice that they wouldnt put kristina tkach's flag on the screen behind her chair, like they did for allison. Pretty crappy and petty of them.

They at least could have used the independent IOC athlete flag that Russians use for the Olympics instead of a blank square. That's what the WPA does for Taiwanese players--force them to use a fake Olympic flag instead of the actual flag of Taiwan. It's all because of the WPA's nonsense association with the Olympics.

yet i bet they'd have no problem displaying chinas flag, even with their forced labor and concentration camps.

taiwan has been using that flag, in many sports, since forty years.

Not by choice. Taiwan fought the IOC over it in court and lost. The image of the actual Taiwanese flag is illegal in mainland China, which complicates things for worldwide broadcasters even beyond the IOC politics.
