Right, but he should have let SVB get a rematch with FSR and slotted himself for the fourth single, imo.He had to play the first one. It was scheduled from the previous day.

I get it and don’t know the particulars but something in the rule match ups may have prevented that. And I don’t really know who puts up first to determine the match ups.Right, but he should have let SVB get a rematch with FSR and slotted himself for the fourth single, imo.
Shane has 17 years of history showing 100% he DOESN'T deserve another chance, along with his record this year. 18 years of terrible playSVB wasn't good, but he didn't play badly at all. No glaring errors like in the 2023 Mosconi. His opponents also played really well.
I think it was a darn near crime - even lack of respect - that Sky didn't give SVB one of the singles on the final day. He deserved another chance.
As it was, Sky proved little better. He might be our best Mosconi player, but his best is not good enough, either.
SVB played a total of 5 games in the 3 Team matches -- 1 game against FSR on Day 1 (SVB lost) and 4 games against Shaw on Days 2 and 3 (2 wins, 2 losses). So he won 2 games and lost 3. Those 5 games are included in the "Game Records" shown in Post #1.How many games did Shane win in the team events? Those should be split up too, if you don't win your game or games, you shouldn't get any credit for the team winning. IMHO
I get it, but Sky didn't do any better in the two singles on the final day. He wasn't just OK overall at the event.Shane has 17 years of history showing 100% he DOESN'T deserve another chance, along with his record this year. 18 years of terrible play
No, he doesn't! He's a proven loser with the longest track record in MC history. Giving him any chance is insanityI get it, but Sky didn't do any better in the two singles on the final day. He wasn't just OK overall at the event.
Gorst wasn't any better before Day 4 and he also went ahead of SVB. I get Sky's thinking and I understand your point, but SVB just got inducted into the HOF. He always deserves a chance until better U.S. players come along.
I made the comment during the Doggin' it Podcast that "Putting SVB in the Mosconi Cup is like scratching on the same shot 20 times in a row and still shooting it the same way next time"No, he doesn't! He's a proven loser with the longest track record in MC history. Giving him any chance is insanity

If you haven't in the past seen my stats posts on the SVB Era in the Mosconi Cup, here is the update for this year: https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...yed-on-either-team.464772/page-4#post-8007067No, he doesn't! I understand how they're picked - my problem is with the bad at math crowd that thinks it's a good thing he's on the team. Fedor is rapidly approaching being in the same boat
Like I expected, Sky hasn’t been much better than SVB. Only Archer has good record. If you haven't in the past seen my stats posts on the SVB Era in the Mosconi Cup, here is the update for this year: https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...yed-on-either-team.464772/page-4#post-8007067
Holy shit is america in trouble if you're a representativeI think you are the one with a math problem. If the best player in the USA struggles in the Mosconi Cup what makes you think someone who isn’t as good as SVB will perform better? If SVB wins 40% of the time just imagine how his replacement will do under the pressure. Your math and logic are laughable as there are no other options to make the US team better.
I would love to see the math on what sub 800 Fargo player from the US will outperform SVB.
Losing is losing. I'd rather lose(or win) with a player that's expected to lose rather than 2 of the top 3 getting destroyed and demoralizing the team.If you haven't in the past seen my stats posts on the SVB Era in the Mosconi Cup, here is the update for this year: https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...yed-on-either-team.464772/page-4#post-8007067
