Yapp continues his strong form into 2026 undefeated winning all his 5 group matches. Another surprise undefeated player is AJ Manas. Still not convinced that this Manas kid is manna from heaven. :LOL:His super fan, Scott Frost is overhyping him

3 out of the 4 quarterfinals in the warmup event went hill/hill.

The two semifinals, the first one starting now, are:
AJ Manas vs. Ko PH, and
Hsieh CC vs. Ko PY.

AJ Manas just beat Ko Ping Han 11-3 🤯

It was 2-2, then Manas won 6 in a row to make it 8-2 before Ko PH won his 3rd and final game.

Manas just gets better by the day.
I'm sure I'm one of many that hopes that Manas, a fast, efficient player who, like fellow Philippines cueist Chezka Centeno, seems to find the runout patterns quickly and almost effortlessly, will be one of the stars of the game. His game is still developing and has a hole or two, but his talent is undeniable. AJ seems to me to be a player who'll never have any issues with the shot clock. I can't wait to see how he performs at the majors in 2026. Wishing him the best.

the game he won to get on the hill, kpy was trying to play safe on the 2 but missed badly

the 2 fell in a random pocket and he continued his run

so it was a pure nine ball victory

here we go again. time to remove all luck from pool. not happening.

luck is evenly spread. manas probably had his share en route to the final
you play 9b long enough and the rolls even out. trying to erase all luck is ridiculous. Hell, the game is about colliding orbs, think there's not gonna be some luck? Don't hear the peanut gallery whine when someone 'flukes'( polite term for 'pureshitshot') in snooker but in pool someone has to bitch.

it's the same stupid stuff in snooker. stuart bingham is nicknamed "ball run" (fluke) because he is seen as luckier than others. you don't need a degree in statistics to understand that luck evens itself out

Luck doesn't even itself out. Some people will be in the 99th percentile of accumulated luck over their lifetimes and some people will be in the 1st percentile.
