2026 Reyes Cup - October 15-18

This event showing you cannot expect to do well when 2 out of 5 of your players are not top level players and the 3rd best is dogging. This is what USA does at Mosconi.

Team Rest of the World has nothing but champions.

In case you missed it, Scott was just talking about Gorst’s great form and delivery and doesn’t look like he can miss. And then Gorst shot this. Missed the pocket, caught the outer point. It bobbled and somehow like someone sucked it in, that ball dropped. There is no way in anyone’s wet dream should that ball have dropped.

Slippery cloth trumps tight pockets any day.

ROW is just too stacked!!!! How was Aloysius yapp not on team Asia?
I think WNT promotes who they want, regardless of talent sometimes when they want to sell pool in certain countries, make rising stars appear more than they when they promote young untested phenoms.

Manas looks out of his depth.

I know Albert has missed some shots, but his general play has been quite good.

Team Asia need Chua as the replacement for Manas for next year.

I know ROW has the "dream" team but team asia's players have not played to their individual standards. Haven't seen much from duong, AJ terrible, biado just ok, januarta not much there, capito picked it up a little bit. They look like team USA vs europe. Besides FSR no one on ROW is really killing it

Yeah, I think Gorst's "miss" had enough follow left off the point to curve forward to hit just enough of the opposite facing to go in. Faster and it doesn't fall. Usually the slide in shots are hit to the other rail.

One factor may be that the pocket facings are more parallel to get the point-to-point size smaller. Parallel facings play a lot easier than the usual facing angle.

For those with WNTTV, the shot is at 40:40 on day 3.

It looked to me like the two youngsters (Januarta and Manas) are in over their heads this week. All the coms could say about them is they have potential. Replace them with Yapp and Chua and it would have been a better match. Experence counts!

Chua is apparently back though.

So he should be on next year's team.

I also think AJ Manas and Albert with a year's more of your experience will be even better.

Duong is the big problem for Team Asia.

Duong is having a bad week for sure. But he’s played well the previous two of these. Aside from Yapp, who would you have picked over him this year from the eligible players.

Yeah, Duong might not be playing fantastically this series, but he's a hell of a player and a legitimate pick. It's the two kids who are the political-not-merit picks on team Asia, as much as I'm a fan of Januarta.
