25 Year Old Cue Warping

Hello all,

I have a 25 y/o Schon and just had it refinished. Just recently I found that the forarm is slightly warped but when I attached the shaft, the top 3/4 of the shaft rolls flat. The warp in the forarm is about 1/4" maybe less. What do you think? Also, is there a way to stop the warping?

I know it can't be fixed but in your opinion, does it affect the playablility of the cue? I am just curious, I miss so much, I am unsure I can blame the cue :).

I apologize if this is a dumb question, but I honestly don't know the answer and hoped someone here could provide some info. Thanks in advance.

I am assuming that since it's straight overall, there should be no problem continuing to shoot with this cue.
 
It should be fine to shoot with. If it doesn't bother you, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just make sure you store the cue properly.
 
I just rewrapped a Schon with a warped forearm about 3 months ago. Shafts were perfect but it warped just below the joint. Where did yours warp at?

How do you know it is the forearm? Are you certain it is not the cues handle, because if it is the handle it can be fixed.

If you do not know how to check it out, go to a cue maker or repairman you trust, they can put it in a lathe spin it and find out exactly where the problem is.

Funny you should say that, my cue also warped from about 3/4 of the way up the forearm to the joint. The joint ends up about 1/4" off the table at the most.
