I just talked to Wayne and he did have to add a handle of hard rock maple . The shaft is not original to the butt .

That is a VERY nice conversion.

Did it have a handle added or is it still a whole full splice under the wrap?

I ask because I see a black ring at each end of the wrap so I suspect it was cut.

I actually like a thin black ring at each end of a wrap and wonder why I don't see it more often. It's a simple touch on a short splice or full splice that was cut but I think it looks great.

Nice shaft too, lots of curl in it. I am wondering if it was the original or perhaps sourced from another old cue?

The whole thing comes together really nicely with the joint and butt cap material color. Very nicely done. I am sure there will be a lot of interest in it.
